Towns in Abruzzo

Chieti

In central Abruzzo, inland from Pescara, is the provincial capital city of Chieti (pronounced kee-yay-tee).

Citta' Sant'Angelo

A gem of a town on a hill above Pescara, Citta Sant'Angelo is worth a day trip to visit.

L'Aquila

What was once Abruzzo's principle art city and a rather cosmopolitan place is now famous as the city rocked by a massive earthquake in 2009.

Penne

In central Abruzzo, not far from the coastal city of Pescara, is the gem of a town called Penne.

Roseto degli Abruzzi

Along the Abruzzo Adriatic coast, the beach town of Roseto degli Abruzzi is also called "the beach of the roses".

Sulmona

Sulmona is a surprise when you see it for the first time - a lively and upscale town in the middle of Abruzzo.

Teramo
