Metrano is a wisp of a hamlet housing only 300 inhabitants high in the hills of the Sorrento Peninsula. It rests on a bluff between the mountains and the sea, above the cliffs and coves of the famous Sorrento coastline. It has gorgeous views of the electric-blue sea and the islands in the distance, and enjoys a mild climate. Metrano is surrounded by weathered olive trees and citrus groves. Sweet mandarin oranges and gigantic lemons for the area's liqueur are found here.

Despite its diminutive size, you'll find a grocery store, three restaurants and a tobacco shop in Metrano. Just a few meters away is the village of Monticchio which has more food shops, coffee bars and eateries. Metrano is away from the crowds but close to the sights and scenery of the dramatic coastline and its beautiful towns like Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi and the island of Capri. Naples and Pompeii aren't far, either.

This beautiful village, is located only 2.5 km from Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, about 5 Km from Marina del Cantone (with its nice beach), 4 km from Massa Lubrense and about 9 km from Sorrento .
