Churches in Perugia

Church of San Domenico

While the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi is certainly Umbria's most recognized church, the Basilica of San Domenico in Perugia is the region's largest church.

Cathedral of San Lorenzo

The beautiful Cathedral of St Lorenzo in Perugia was originally designed in 1300 by Fra Bevignate, who planned to build the religious building over the ruins of an ancient basilica.

San Severo Chapel

At Perugia's high point is a highlight piece of artwork in the Cappella San Severo.

Basilica of St Domenico

The most imposing church in Perugia is also the most visible, thanks to its high-rise bell tower that stands out as a landmark.

Church of Sant'Agostino

Located in the heart of Perugia off of Corso Garibaldi, the Gothic church of Sant'Agostino is worth a visit.
