A sun and sea-washed spot at the southern tip of Sardinia, you'll find yourself immersed in nature and far from the crowds and chaos here. Santa Margherita di Pula sits at the lower tip of the island, just 30 kilometers from Cagliari (the provincial capital city, and airport) and resting between Capo Spartivento (literally: split the winds) and Nora. Along the way are 10 kilometers of beach, many of those soft golden sand swished by the clear verdigris sea. Some beaches have sand that is almost white! There's a series of bays and beaches interspersed with reefs and promontories, pines and dunes, and rose granite outcroppings. It is -simply- beautiful.

Green-swaddled hills give way to the shoreline, with a promenade and beaches, resorts and archeological sites, restaurants and bars, so there is really something for everyone. Trails abound for trekking and mountain biking, while plenty of small hill towns afford the joy of exploring and finding churches, architecture and museums, views, and of course, great food! ;)

The water is truly crystalline (not overusing that word or exaggerating a bit!) and its location is a bit breezy, keeping the worst heat at bay, while also providing conditions in some places for surfers. Otherwise, it's also great for snorkelers and splashers, those who want to swim and those who like to just wade in from the sand. There's a challenging golf club here, optimum seafood, and the town of Pula is close by, active and alive with events, services and life.
