Cafe Wunderbar is Taormina's historic gathering spot. The cafe sits on the Piazza IX Aprile and has served literary and glitterati types for a century. Popularized by the likes of Greta Garbo, Oscar Wilde, Tennessee Williams and Elizabeth Taylor, it is still the "in" place for a drink or dolce in an elegant setting.

Grab a table on the piazza to watch the town's people parade or a spot on the panoramic terrace behind to take in the sweeping views of the sea while enjoying a refreshing granita or the island's famous cannoli. They are also known for the fruit-dotted cassata cake and their cocktails.
