Vatolla is one of the frazioni of Perdifumo, a tiny village in the Cilento hills above Castellabate. They threw an annual party to celebrate the important ingredient that enriches so many dishes -the onion! That's right, without this ancient root vegetable, things would be bland indeed!

Come and enjoy a rustic-country festival with great food, artisan stands, Old World charm, music and dancing. You are guaranteed an inexpensive meal and lots of fun! Dishes include the onion in many, many forms: frittelle (fried dough); onions au gratin; onion soup; onion parmesan. Pizza, frittata, tagliolini pasta, and meat and onion stew, among other dishes.

The festival is held on weekends from mid-July through August, with different musical groups, dances, exhibitions and entertainment every weekend.
