Not many restaurants can claim the history this one does. Its subtitle is "ancient inn of the Templars" - from 1200! The building and inn was once the locale of the local Templar lodge, an historical novelty that makes it worth a visit. But the food is also a reason to come to this eatery in the historical center of Sant'Agata de' Goti, as they serve regional fare from the Sannio, such as rich cinghiale (wild boar) sauce on fresh fettuccine noodles or pasta with forest grown porcini mushrooms. Roasted and grilled meats are hallmarks of this area, along with special regional sausages and cheeses that make you drool. Everything is washed down with the Campania wines made in the Benevento province.
