Policiano is a small hamlet among the olive groves of eastern Tuscany. It is administratively part of the beautiful art city of Arezzo, and lies part way between Arezzo and Castiglion Fiorentino. It is also near Cortona and Lake Trasimeno, and the other fabulous sights of Tuscany. The countryside here is very picturesque with the quintessential grape vines, rolling hills and cypress trees that are so typical in Tuscany.

The town is small but has a supermarket, coffee bars and a restaurant. More eateries are found in the surrounding countryside and nearby towns. The churches of San Clemente and of Sant'Andrea are worth a visit. There is a medieval castle above the village that dates back to the 960s, with a tower and interior courtyard all resting on elevated walls for protection. Just one kilometer from Policiano is the interesting hamlet of Pigli, which shows off a medieval cluster of houses, making it a nice walk to reach.

The town is famous for its running races. The entire area is sprinkled with villas and farmhouses, and some great wineries, too.
