Get some of the island's local capers to take home (and some to use at your dammuso, too!). The berry isn't actually a berry, by the way; it's the unripened flower of the caper plant. Fun facts, aside, they're versatile in the kitchen and tasty. They grew well on the sunny and dry island. You can get them in natural sea salt, along with jars of pestos with capers and other goodies, like sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and more. They also have passito (sweet dessert wine, famous on Pantelleria), jams, and other local products.
