This used to be a harbor overlooked by the old Norman tower (mezzatorre) which, in ancient times, acquitted the double defensive role of the Salerno coastline from the danger of Saracen pirates and the church of Annunziata (dated back to 1100 AD) with its characteristic bell tower.

Mezzatorre beach offers both free-access to the sea, and private beaches and facilities where you can rent beach umbrellas and chairs to enjoy the warm sun of Cilento.
