This museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Teatro San Carlo, Europe's oldest theater. MEMUS stands for Memoria e Musica - Memory and Music, a fine title and objective for an illustrious opera house. The museum is next to the San Carlo Theater and the Royal Palace of Naples, right in the middle of the city. It has high-tech and contemporary exhibition methods, with multimedia, interactive and exposition displays to show off the historical objects, books, costumes and background of the theater. There is also a 3-D filming and special exhibits highlighting great performers and moments in the world of Opera.

MeMus is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekends. Closed Wednesdays.
