Kayak Maratea

The best way to see the spectacular seascapes and landscapes of the coast of Maratea is from the water. So get out on a kayak and paddle to a hidden cove, to gleaming green grottoes (or some that shimmer blue), and beaches reachable only by sea. It's a great outing.

Fly Maratea is the tour company that, despite its name (it started out with paragliding) offers guided tours to the grottoes, family outing with kids, or sunset paddles with aperitivo. You can also rent kayaks and paddles from them if you want to go off on your own and are already skilled at kayaking. They do a good job and have great guides. Most of their tours depart from the Porto di Maratea. (They also offer guiding hiking trips.) Fly Maratea has been the only true kayak outfitters and guides in the region.

You can also rent kayaks from a few lido beach establishments:

La Secca Solarium has some kayaks that can be rented as part of their offerings, along with the beach, park, showers, and such.

Lido Buena Vista at Castrocucco Beach has kayaks for rent.

Cala Jannita also offers kayak rentals from their beach area, with single or double seat kayaks available.
