One of Maratea's famed black sand beaches, Cala Jannita is a beautiful beach backed by greenery and fronted by turquoise water. The "sand" is actually teensy pebbles, and has been used in music videos (like Laura Pausini's "Non E' Detto"). The cove is surrounded by rocks and some sea grottoes, so renting a canoe from the lido is worthwhile if the sea is calm. Just off the shore is the little rock isle of Santo Janni.

It is reached from the parking area by a walkway (about 250 meters/ 820 feet) which includes some stairs. Once there, two lido concessions rents umbrellas and sunbeds, has a bar and snack/food service, changing cabins and showers. One rents canoes. You can reserve your ombrellone online on their website. The other doesn't have a website. There is a piece of free beach in between them and at the edge of the cove, as well. Parking requires payment.
