Before the Baroque, Lecce had a thriving Jewish population in the middle ages. Take a trip back in time at the Medieval Jewish Museum, located in Palazzo Taurino in the lower level with its remains of the old Synagogue, and learn about this often-overlooked part of Puglia's history.

Take a trip back to the old giudeca, the Jewish quarter, through archeological discovery, photos and history. You can also take a guided tour of the Jewish Quarter and the museum, hosted by staff (cost of €15) for an intriguing glance into the past.

The museum is open daily from 10:00 AM til 1:30 PM and from 4:00 PM til 7:30 PM; in winter open only mornings. Closed Sundays.
