Gole dell'Alcantara

The fluvial park of the Alcantara River is something unique and special to see, created by the river's erosive action against the basalt rock. The erosion created unique formations from small ponds to interesting designs in the vertical walls, and unusual prismatic shaped rocks. There are basalt columns, some pentagonal and some hexagonal shapes, organ pipes, fans, and some that resemble wood piles. All in all, it is an uncommon kind of park!
