The islands off Sicily are known for their dessert wines, but also excellent vintages for enjoying with a meal, too. You can taste both at Fenech Winery on the island of Salina, where their Malvasia is well regarded. The chilled sipping wine is perfect on a summer's day, and the sweet Malvasia delle Lipari Passito has racked up many awards. There's a red, another heritage grape Inzolia for the Perciato Bianco, and grappa. They also produce the capers that the island is known for.
