Wide sandy beaches with palm lined waterfront, with soft sand and water that deepens gradually are the hallmarks of Marina di Grosseto. Long bike trails along the coast, parts of beach are right in town, while those seeking more space and solitude can go to the edges where the beach is backed by pine woods.

Much of the beach is taken by various concessions that rent umbrellas and sun beds, and offer services like dining, snack bars, showers and changing cabins. There are sections of free beach between Bagno Moderno and Bagno Sirena (Via Catalani); at the end of Via Infanzia, backed by low dune and macchia brush, (next to Bagno La Lanterna), with another larger tract on the opposite side of La Lanterna. Further up, there are big free beaches on either side of La Fiumara restaurant and beach club.

Families with kids love the soft sand and initially shallow water, while others appreciate the views, the clean clear water, the services and ambiance.
