Baia Verde

To the south of Gallipoli on Puglia's Salento coast you'll find an extensive stretch of golden sand beaches. Baia Verde - green bay - is so named because the sun reflecting on the seawater can give off an emerald hue. There are wide beaches with sand dunes, Mediterranaean vegetation and some rocky patches for interest.
This is a destination known its clean waters and laid-back atmosphere. There are areas of undeveloped beach as well as those with establishments that rent umbrellas and chairs, backed by restaurants and cafes. Some turn into discos at night for dancing under the stars on the beach.
Baia Verde is just a few kilometers south of the historic center of Gallipoli on the Ionian Sea.
