Had a great stay!

July 2019 - We had a great stay. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Travel tips

  • Driving on the Amalfi coast is not for the faint hearted. Nor for that matter, walking along the road. Roads are narrow with buses in particular hurtling along them. If you hear hooting before a bend, stop immediately - it means there's a bus about to hurtle into view.

Very good

August 2015 - We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Vespero. It is a great location to have a relaxing holiday on the Amalfi Coast.

Views from the villa are wonderful and the pool was very good also. Mid-week cleaning service was very welcome.

Very good service from Summer In Italy - thank you!

Travel tips

  • There are quite a few steps up to the villa - so bear this in mind when packing!
  • There are only a few restaurants and bars nearby, but they are all excellent.

Fantastic

August 2014 - We had a fantastic and memorable time at Villa Vespero.

The property manager was available if needed but left us alone to enjoy our private get away.

Thanks to Summer In Italy for making this a memorable holiday as we celebrated our 25th anniversary in Amalfi. We will use you and recommend you in the future.

Travel tips

  • Do not rent a car or drive.
  • Use the public transportation and get your bus tickets in Amalfi.
  • You will be able to pick up the bus right below the villa at any time.
  • Dine at the nearby Restaurant Al Pesce d'Oro. Excellent pastas and pizza.

Very good

August 2014 - We thought the outside of Villa Vespero was outstanding and the views couldn't be better.

The villa was very spacious, we had a few problems on occasions with the water, but on the whole it was fine. I did say to the owner that an electric kettle would be nice! We couldn't find a pizza cutter and there we were in pizza country! A guest comments book would be helpful as it would give you places to go and see that other people have recommend.

Nothing but praise for Summer In Italy, they were so helpful and definitely a company I would recommend. So to you guys once again "Thank You" for all of your help.

Travel tips

  • Take ant spray or powder.
  • Go in the pool either when it's raining or just after the water is lovely.
  • We used Limousine Sorrento Renato Cuomo taxi company and they were excellent.

Excellent

July 2014 - Wonderful location.

Super space to spend time in, enjoying the views, relaxing in the pool and eating in the cool shady areas.

Very hospitable owners indeed, who did everything to make our stay pleasant.

Would recommend Villa Vespero to others without hesitation.

Excellent service and timely response to emails from Summer In Italy. Many thanks.

Travel tips

  • Explore local beaches.
  • Leave plenty of time if you want to visit Pompeii or Vesuvius by public transport - it's quite a trek.
  • The walk into the mountains past the paper mills is great and a lovely opportunity to learn about the historical background of the area.
  • Ravello is a must.
  • Excellent restaurant 3 minute walk away.

Very good

June 2014 - Villa Vespero was a great choice sitting just above the town of Amalfi on a beautiful stretch of the Amalfi Coast.

Well equipped kitchen and clean. Beautiful location and views with a very nice pool. The scenery from the outdoor areas was spectacular.

Travel tips

  • Note that the term "villa" is generic for a home. The pictures will indicate that it is not grand, but nice and serviceable.
  • Windows were closed at night, it was fine.
  • TV is a bit of an issue in that English language stations are extremely limited.
  • Internet access is fine.
  • Great access to all the other towns of Ravello, Positano, Atrani etc.
  • Hire a boat for the day and cruise the waters to Capri and back.

May 2014 - We enjoyed our visit very much.

Enjoyed working with Summer In Italy and will recommend you to others and will call again for myself.

Travel tips

  • Be aware that any property in the area might have many stairs and access to Internet will sometimes be intermittent.

Very clean and good facilities. Really good amount of outdoor space.

Very good service, thank you.

Travel tips

  • We used of the owners garage parking for a fee per day -- worth it for removal of hassle with parking.

Fantastic

August 2013 - A very spacious, comfortable villa with breathtaking views and pretty gardens.

Our only problem was with the hot water pressure which was low, making the bath slow to fill.

Other than that we would strongly recommend this villa.

Thank you

Travel tips

  • Think carefully before hiring a car. Driving is very stressful and difficult on narrow mountain roads, parking is hard to come by and very expensive in August in the Amalfi area. There is a bus stop just outside the villa.

Excellent

May 2013 - The journey to Villa Vespero was excellent with stunning views of the coastline. We were greeted on arrival by the owners who were very friendly and helpful. We had to climb some steps to get to the villa itself, but this meant that we had a fantastic view.

The outside space was excellent. It was surrounded by lemon trees with plenty of different places to sit, enjoy the view and eat. The pool was a huge bonus which the children loved.

Inside was great too. The sitting area was plentiful, the bedrooms light and spacious and the bathrooms were great with a Jacuzzi bath. It was very clean.

We used public transport as there is a bus stop at street level but there is space to park a car close to the villa but this is a public car park which may get full. There are restaurants nearby and the only downside was that the nearest shop was up 448 steps which were tiring to climb when very hot!

We had a fabulous holiday in Villa Vespero and were very sad to leave, but we will definitely be looking to book this villa again in the future.

I have already recommended your company to friends who are looking to book holidays in Italy. Your website was excellent and the advice you gave very helpful.

Travel tips

  • Lots of places to visit near the villa.
  • We visited in May and the buses did get quite crowded at times. We visited Pompeii which was fabulous and a boat trip around Capri is a must.

Unfortunately, Villa Vespero can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
