Such a great location

June 2023 - Great location, very peaceful it was a great spot to relax.

Travel tips

  • Ravello was great … it was a strenuous hike. Don’t think you can hike up and go shopping and bring stuff down. Bus service is available.

Amazing stay

September 2022 - Villa Maestosa was amazing. We were travelling with 4 couples and it was perfect for our group. The pool/terrace was beautiful, the hot tub got lots of use, the rooms were all nice.

The caretaker was top notch and was so helpful! She answered all of our questions and helped us coordinate renting a boat, a chef, transportation to the towns, etc.

Overall, our stay was amazing.

Would like to return one day

July 2022 - We enjoyed Villa Maestosa very much and would indeed like to return one day - and will also not hesitate to recommend to others.

Views are fantastic and the many terraces makes it possible for everybody to find peace and quiet. The pool area and terrace are magnificent.

Great service from Summer In Italy!

Excellent

October 2019 - Our stay at Villa Maestosa was nothing short of exceptional.

We stayed at the Villa for five nights to attend a friend’s wedding in Ravello. Our concierge was very attentive and quick to respond with any and everything we needed. That includes getting groceries for the villa, having the maid service done in a timely manner, and most important to us having arranged transportation with all the events we had to attend for the wedding. Our final night of stay they set up a private chef for all of us to enjoy and relax our final evening. The chef was so kind and the food was excellent.

Thank you for making our trip one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.

It was perfect.

August 2019 - We were 7 adults, traveling to Italy, who wanted separate outdoor and indoor spaces, a pool with a beautiful entertaining space, and a nice kitchen where we could cook. We found everything that we wanted in Villa Maestosa.

This "home" offers everything that we wanted: a "sonos" so we could listen to our own music while we were swimming/having wine and appetizers by the pool, the kitchen was stocked beyond what we could have wished for, and Carmela [the caretaker] kept the home clean on a daily basis. I would not hesitate to return nor to recommend.

Summer In Italy was so easy to work with, answering our every question and putting us at ease with our vacation. I would recommend and use Summer In Italy again.

Travel tips

  • We took daily adventures to: Atrani, Amalfi, Positano, Maiori, and Ravello. Each village was charming and had a unique character. For your information: Taxis from Villa Maestosa cost: 100 euros (ea way) to Positano and 70 euros (ea way) to Maiori.
  • There is a small winery just down the street that we frequented to buy our wine.
  • Have the home stocked with food before you arrive (cost: 30 euros) as it really is inconvenient getting to any sort of market (although in Amalfi, we went to a separate cheese shop, meat shop and bread shop and had our heart's desire!).
  • We rented a boat through Blue Star. We chose a 36' boat with a captain. It was a memorable experience (and we highly recommend Blue Star - we had to reschedule because of high winds, and they were great!). It was a nice way to see the shoreline, we had time in Capri, and we stopped along the way to swim in the beautiful sea.
  • We used "Shoot my Travel", and our photographer came to the home to take family photos. They did a great job helping us remember our once-in-a-lifetime vacation!

October 2018 - Villa Maestosa was amazing!

When we arrived at the villa, Carmen [the caretaker] was there to greet us. She was available to us 24 hours a day for booking transportation, restaurants and even ordering groceries and having them delivered. She was wonderful.

Summer In Italy was recommended by a friend and I find them to be first rate and very professional. I would you use them again and have already recommended them to several people.

July 2016 - Our Family enjoyed Villa Maestosa very much.

Everyone had his own privacy, enjoyed the pool and also the amenities in the kitchen.

The property manager was very accommodating recommending restaurants and arranging drivers for us to get to and from places. The maid, Dorita, was also, very accommodating.

Travel tips

  • All of the restaurants we went to were excellent.
  • Would suggest having drivers for transportation because driving can be a hair-raising event on the narrow roads with hairpin curves.
  • Really enjoyed a private boat trip along the coast line which allowed our family to swim in the Mediterranean.
  • Exploring the various villages and a trip to Pompeii for half-day were enjoyable.

August 2015 - This was our second holiday in Villa Maestosa and, again, we had a wonderful time. We returned this year because we had had such a brilliant holiday in Villa Maestosa three years ago. We were not disappointed this year. We would thoroughly recommend Villa Maestosa for a superb holiday.

Very good

June 2015 - Villa Maestosa is an excellent villa with spectacular views, lovely pool and great maid service. It was a bit tricky entering driveway from street and using garage for parking.

My daughters found SII on the WEB and I had a very positive experience dealing with all your staff. They were very helpful, efficient, informative and courteous.

Travel tips

  • Spend time in Ravello and rent a boat for the day in Atrani and go up the coastline through Positano to Capri and swim in the ocean off the boat. Much more relaxing than driving a car.

August 2014 - Villa Maestosa provided us with a wonderful base for one of the best holidays we've ever had.

The service I received from Summer in Italy was exemplary.

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed walking down the steps to Atrani in the evenings, to sit and dine in the excellent restaurants there, we would then ring the ultra reliable Claudio Lucibello to come and take us home.
  • Pompeii and Herculaneum are excellent days out, as was hiring a boat (+ skipper) for the trip to Capri.
  • Tramonti wine festival (again courtesy of Claudio) was also very enjoyable.

July 2014 - Villa Maestosa is a wonderful home. It is a warm and hospitable spot. We would love to visit again.

The location is outstanding (walk into Amalfi, easy drive up to Ravello), the house warm and comfortable (plenty of room for our group), and the views magnificent. We spent most of our time outside on the various terraces or at the pool.

Antonietta and Benedetta [the caretakers] really made our stay easy and special!

Many thanks to Summer in Italy for your kindness and professionalism. Every question we had was answered quickly and with a smile. Your representatives were wonderful. We will certainly use Summer in Italy again.

Travel tips

  • Although we enjoyed Amalfi (much more than Positano I must say!), we were especially enchanted with Atrani. It has a wonderful beach (not as crowded as Amalfi) and has a couple of great restaurants in the Town square (we ate twice at Restaurant Luisella, which I recommend highly).
  • We also rented a boat (with skipper) for a day and went by water down the coast beyond Positano, where we stopped for lunch. I would highly recommend this, as it gives a wonderful perspective on the coast. Warning... skip the Emerald Grotto - we thought it was a waste of time.
  • Finally, do not miss Ravello - just up the road from the villa, we went twice and absolutely loved it.

May 2013 - We were three couples from Canada and before arriving at the Villa were some what concerned at what to expect. We had rented a villa in Tuscany (5th century great experience) the week before and the price of Villa Maestosa was considerably less.

Turned out it was a diamond -- beautifully decorated with countless places to sit and enjoy the view. It is large, clean and full of neat surprises. The staff was always helpful.

Travel tips

  • There is a little grocery market at the bottom of the hill where you turn up toward Ravello to get the villa.
  • The best markets are in Amalfi. You may have to park way out on the pier and walk to the main square of Amalfi which is across from where the buses park (it is kind of hidden). Walk up the main street from the main square and there is a pretty good market on the right side. Beyond that down a little alley on the right is a bigger market.
  • The easiest beach to reach is in Amalfi and it was just as good as the beach in Maiori.

May 2013 - Villa Maestosa was perfect for us. The outdoor space was fabulous and the pool and deck wonderful. Fabulous views.

The housekeeper was fantastic - unobtrusive and incredibly efficient and and helpful.

Travel tips

  • Local bus stop is very convenient.
  • Sammarco winery is a quick walk away, near the bus stop.
  • Definitely go to Ravello, and Maiori.
  • Get to know one or two cab drivers and get their cards. They are very willing to assist and are very friendly. Claudio recommended by Summer in Italy was great, as was Biagio, recommended by Villa Maestosa's manager.
  • Ask to have some basic supplies in the fridge... milk, juice, water, bread, butter, fruit, wine.
  • The manager can arrange someone to cook a night or two. That was great!
