The house is one of a kind and has so many great areas

July 2023 - We absolutely loved our stay! The house is one of a kind and has so many great areas.

The location and the amazing views on Positano and the sea are just stunning! We absolutely recommend this villa to everyone.

Gianluigi is a great host, available for anything we needed and very discrete.

We actually hope to be back one day and show this magical place to our family and friends.

Travel tips

  • We visited the coast with a Vespa and Praiano was just brilliantly located for that!

Phenomenal experience

July 2023 - This was a fantastic villa. It was huge with sprawling rooms and plenty of space. It had so many terraces and beautiful views. The only thing that was less than ideal was the bedroom area on the mezzanine level above the living room didn't get AC, so was quite hot, we asked for a fan and it was provided.

The owner of the villa checked on us and provided anything we needed.

Phenomenal experience, we very much enjoyed staying here.

Travel tips

  • Highly recommend the private chef experience. The meal was delicious and the hospitality was unmatched.
  • Restaurants and stores are walkable, but definitely a lot of hills. We really enjoyed Restaurant La Moressa. We also like Restaurant Kasai. The grocery store below La Moressa (Mini Market Tutto Per Tutti) had everything we needed.

Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli was absolutely incredible!

May 2023 - Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli was absolutely incredible! The home is stunning - it was perfectly clean and offered every amenity we could have asked for.

During our stay, we had some rain and chilly weather, but we were perfectly happy hanging out at the house - it's that nice.

The owner is gracious and helped us with our every need.

We would definitely return!

Travel tips

  • Try Restaurant Kasai just walking distance down the street from Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli.
  • Have the owner and his pizza chef friend come by for a pizza making night at the house. It's one of our greatest memories of the entire trip!

Phenomenal is an understatement

June 2022 - Phenomenal is an understatement (and this review is coming from very well traveled people...)! The only problem we had was leaving... This is a beautiful villa with architecture that shows the history of the region so it is not a typical center hall home, etc. It is magnificent! Every touch done and well done too. On line photos do not do it justice.

Summer In Italy was so easy to work with. No muss, no fuss. Congratulations on a well run company!

Travel tips

  • Take local buses or taxis. The private car service is truly expensive and very over priced.
  • We were referred, not by the owner, to Restaurant Da Gemma in Amalfi for our last night. Skip it. It was the only place in all of Italy I returned my meal. Our waiter was surly to say the least.
  • Go on a private boat to Capri for the day. Capri is just one more of the "fabulous places" like St Barths but on steroids. However the ride back with swimming, cruising, etc. was stellar.

Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli is fantastic!

May 2019 - Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli is fantastic! The many terraces offer beautiful views and places to relax. We enjoyed staying in quiet Praiano and going to the other towns along the coast as well as Pompeii and Capri.

We were very happy with Summer In Italy. All of our questions were asked promptly and we felt that we were well taken care of. Thank you!

Outstanding location

September 2018 - Outstanding location and well positioned away from the main-stream tourist towns of Amalfi and Positano.

When searching for a property Summer In Italy was extremely reactive and helpful throughout the full process. Would deal with Summer In Italy again.

Travel tips

  • The villa is high up, so ensure that all are capable of walking up steep flights of steps or road.
  • Local bus service good from outside villa (every 30 mins during the day).

Extremely comfortable and livable

September 2018 - Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli was extremely comfortable and livable. It is spacious and allows room for everyone to enjoy their own private space if desired. The multiple garden and outside sitting areas are very peaceful.

The landlord is gracious and always responsive to needs if called.

We loved your newsletter and tips for the traveler. Your direct contact while deciding which villa to rent was excellent advise and immediate help. It was much appreciated.

Travel tips

  • Get to know the local grocer and use the delivery service.
  • The villa is well stocked with proper kitchen appliances and tools to enjoy preparing food and eating in some of the time.
  • If eating out be sure to eat at Kasai on Via Umberto and La Moressa Italian Bistro on Via Moressa.
  • The local bus is easily used right outside the villa driveway. The drivers are friendly and fun to be around.

June 2018 - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli. The views are spectacular!

The house is extremely well equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable, the kitchen is amazing. It was hard to wrench ourselves away to explore other areas of the coast - all we wanted to do was lounge around the pool or relax on the many terraces.

September 2017 - Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli can be described in one word - 'paradise'.

It is a stunning villa in the best location with the most fabulous views. We enjoyed all aspects of the villa and its many terraces (all with spectacular views). We were so happy to have found this villa.

Luigi [the owner] was amazing. He answered all of our questions and provided some great recommendations during our stay.

This was our first time with Summer In Italy and would definitely recommend their service. All the information provided before our arrival was clear and concise.

Travel tips

  • We walked everyday to the local mini market to purchase food and enjoyed all our dinners in the villa.
  • The local bus into the town of Positano was very convenient.
  • The only thing to remember is that some places are closed in the early afternoon so you need to plan and shop in the morning (at least for the food/wine).

August 2017 - Relaxing at the beautiful and quiet Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli.

My family and I spent a week at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli, the villa was true to all of its descriptions and photos. The view from the villa is breathtaking you can see Positano on your right hand side as you stand on any (multiple balconies) terrace. The two bedrooms upstairs have an incredible view of the water so you can enjoy the sunrise every morning.

The kitchen is pretty well equipped with all appliances. We enjoyed having our breakfast every morning at the downstairs terrace.

The swimming pool was a great addition to the house. We enjoyed spending time by the pool everyday.

The house is extremely well kept and clean. We had a midweek maid service which was very nice as well.

I highly recommend Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli and will definitely return. Overall Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli made our stay and vacation at the Amalfi Coast an unforgettable one.

The owner maintains the pool on a daily basis. He was very kind and helpful in suggesting restaurants and other attractions nearby for us to visit. He was available any hour of the day if we needed him for something.

Very professional and efficient service from Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • Rent a private boat by Lucibello for the day and tour Capri and the various Grottos. It was an amazing experience.
  • I highly recommend staying near Positano but not being in it. Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli is perfectly situated because you can enjoy a true Italian vacation away from the touristy areas.
  • Definitely try Kasai Restaurant very near the villa, also the food at Restaurant Tramonto d’Oro was excellent.
  • Visit Ravello, have lunch or dinks and enjoy the beautiful views.

Fantastic

August 2016 - Enjoyed Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli very much.

The house was impeccably and tastefully decorated, and the kitchen very well equipped. The views were amazing and there was an abundant choice of outside dining, seating and sunning options. The pictures don't do it justice.

The owner was great and very helpful all around.

Loved Summer In Italy help on this, thank you!

Travel tips

  • We would highly recommend One Fire Beach in Praiano, which is accessible on foot by a path behind the church. The walk is lovely.
  • The house is really well located for hikers - if you are fit and ambitious, you can walk to Positano along the Walk of the Gods.
  • The delis at the bottom of the steps is great.
  • Buses are helpful in getting around the coast and definitely do a boat trip along the coast.
  • One word of warning, this house is located fairly high up and it is a quite strenuous walk from town and even more from the beach with a lot of steps.

July 2016 - We had the most amazing time throughout our three week stay at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli.

It is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We most enjoyed the outdoor spaces- especially the dining space with the incredible views where we ate every meal.

The owner Luigi was helpful and eager to please.

Travel tips

  • Definitely enjoy the One Fire Beach.
  • Explore the restaurants in Praiano which are very good and have a great, relaxed atmosphere.
  • We were in the area long enough to enjoy some of the local festivals - try to get this info early.
  • Some of our best memories were to find ourselves in the midst of a religious processional or a kids festival in one of the local squares.
  • We appreciated Alimentari Angela and Luca's daily deliveries as the location can be challenging (lots of steep steps that add to the view but make the town a bit less accessible).

June 2016 - The views from Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli are breathtaking and there are several terraces from which take advantage of them. The villa is spacious, cool and allows the needed privacy if two couples are staying there.

It is in an excellent location, not far from Positano but away from the tourist crush that is there.

Mr. Gianluigi, the owner, is very friendly and was prompt to answer any questions we had.

May 2016 - Best Vacation ever! Had a wonderful time.

Luigi [the owner] was very accommodating.

Very spacious villa, fabulous views, clean swimming pool overlooking the sea, terraces everywhere. Lemons and flowers and cacti, decorative art everywhere. Fantastic attention to detail.

Excellent service. Your staff were all very polite, helpful and informative. We really had no problems with anything. We love the newsletters and tips. Great follow up and reminders.

Travel tips

  • The supermarket to the left at the bottom of the drive (Tutto per Tutti) was bigger and better than the ones to the right, although all were quite reasonable.
  • You'll need to buy your own laundry soap, napkins, matches, and replacement toilet paper. Bring a washcloth if you prefer one.
  • Loft bedroom has a bathroom at bottom of stairs. Two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom, but it has two sinks and a separate door for the tub and toilet.
  • We had no hot water one morning but it was fixed by our return later that day.
  • Ask about the pizza party earlier in the week so you can enjoy the leftovers, you won't have eaten too much pizza elsewhere and you can plan for the expense.
  • The walk up the hill is not for the fainthearted. The local bus drops you close to the villa, if you can figure out the schedule.
  • Bring notes from Summer in Italy tips as wi-fi is unpredictable.

September 2015 - Wonderful in all respects. We had a great time and took advantage of all the amenities from the pool to the pizza oven. Was ready to move in permanently.

Luca, you run a fine company. The website is very easy to use and informative. Melanie was as helpful as anyone I've ever dealt with in planning a vacation - and I've been taking holidays for decades now. Give her a pay raise!

Travel tips

  • The more you like to walk, the more you'll like Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli.
  • If you like to make your own pizza, Marco down at Jolly Pizza will sell you pizza dough so you don't have to make it from scratch (is that cheating?).
  • Flavio Gioia bus is a good way to get around - but don't rely on the schedule.

September 2015 - Overall we had a wonderful time, loved the coast and the people and especially the villa.

The villa should be advertised as suiting 6 adults not 8 adults. The 2 main bedrooms are beautiful, the mezzanine with no hanging space is not suitable and the 4th bedroom only suits 1 adult. The pool was amazing and all the terraces were perfect to watch the great sunsets. Good to have a washing machine and dryer. The house is very well maintained and we enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go back.

Your website was very good and you responded promptly to any questions. Would definitely contact you again and recommend you to friends as we would the villa.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared for walking uphill. It has to be done everyday if you are going out from the villa.
  • Hard to get to a beach and we found it better to jump on a bus to positano which is a fabulous place.
  • A bus ride to Ravello and Amalfi was a good day out and we also did the long trip by bus and train to Pompeii which was worth it.
  • No problem getting food delivered to the villa and we ate at different restaurants in town every night for the week and then that big walk uphill back to the villa.
  • Overall we had a wonderful time, loved the coast and the people and especially the villa.

September 2015 - We really enjoyed Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli. Of the four villas we stayed in on our four week Italian holiday, Stile was by far the best. Amazing views and great location - away from the crowds but very easy to access the local towns.

August 2015 - We loved our stay at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli. The house is stunning and the pictures really do not do the place justice.

The bathroom situation is a little difficult - there are no en suite bathrooms. The bedroom in the loft space above the living room is also difficult. It is lovely, but is open to below and gets to be quite hot even though the living room is air conditioned.

The house is central in Praiano, but the nature of the town is a lot of walking up and down stairs and there is no easy access to restaurants and shops (there are very few shops in town at all) or beach.

On the whole, though, the place was magical!!

June 2015 - It was AMAZING, we had a wonderful time at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli. The weather was very hot and the pool was wonderful.

Gianluigi [the owner] was so very nice and helpful. He came by each day to water plants and clean the pool. He let us pick the time of day he would come. We hope to see him again here in Atlanta.

The views were amazing and having onsite parking was a plus.

Summer in Italy is a great company to work with. The villa was just as the pictures showed, only better. The owner/caretaker of the villa was so kind to us. We loved it.

Travel tips

  • Bring washcloths to bathe and music or dvds to watch, the only TV is in bedroom upstairs and even with sky connection, nothing was in English.
  • The kitchen looks amazing but the refrigerator is in separate area off laundry room.
  • Bring big insulated big cups for the pool. Ice trays would be good if you like lots of ice.
  • There is a very well stocked grocery store in the small town of Praiano on the hill. The drive down the hill from the house back to town is ONE WAY! When you get to the end of street overlooking the Amalfi coast turn left and on one of the hairpin turns you will see the store. VERY NICE and well stocked, go down stairs to see wine cellar. It was a real treat.
  • We did not have a bad meal there. I am still smiling.

This was a vacation of a lifetime for us and we would highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to enjoy the Amalfi coast but have peace and relaxation in between site seeing trips as so much is easily accessible by car, bus and train.

September 2014 - I probably should not say how much we loved staying at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli, because I don’t want other people to block out future bookings!

Praiano was the perfect location, in between the very busy Amalfi and beautiful Positano. Praiano is a lovely town, quiet and friendly. The house was perfect for us to take day trips and also stay in and relax by the pool, cook dinner and listen to the nice music float up from the town way below at night. The views of Positano, Capri and the sunsets were amazing.

Special thanks to Luigi [the owner] for checking on us and making sure everything was OK and for rescuing our barbecue by providing charcoal. Anthony also thanks you for telling him where the nightclubs are.

Thank you Luca for all the assistance with the rental. Everything worked out very well and I am very pleased with how things went. My family had a wonderful time.

Travel tips

  • Cell phone service was not good at all for us. Wifi in the house was fine most of the time.
  • Only went to one restaurant in town, across from the Bar De Sole, very good.
  • Distances to stores, town and restaurants don't say that it's straight up and down! You can eat as much as you want and be sure you will not gain any weight!

April 2014 - My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli.

The accommodation, location, and view were fabulous. What made our stay even more special was the attention and immediate response time from the owners of the villa. Luigi was fantastic every time we made a request or asked a question. He made us feel very welcome in his family's home, and contributed greatly to the wonderful week that we had. The Pizza Party provided by his family was so much fun. The pizza was delicious, but we especially enjoyed the interactions with the family. Wonderful people, fantastic experience.

Your company was great to deal with and were very responsive to my questions leading up to the trip. I would highly recommend you to other people, which I actually have already. I would certainly use you again on my next trip to Italy.

Travel tips

  • We made a day trip to Pompeii and a half day visit to Positano, which is a must if you have not been to either before. Easy to get to.
  • Capri is also a must, however we did not do it this time as we had been there before and really wanted to use our time hanging out at the villa.
  • Because of the unique, fabulous accommodations we actually ate at the villa most of the time. No need to go to a fancy restaurant. You had all you needed right at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli.

April 2013 - Our stay at Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli from April 6-13, 2013, was absolutely amazing. The villa is just beautiful, with comfortable and well decorated spaces, and the grounds, including terraces and succulent/cacti gardens, are incredible.

We spent a good part of our time in the dining area overlooking the ocean. The kitchen area is very well stocked with utensils and cookware, and we really appreciated a clothes dryer as well as the washer. The upstairs bathroom for the two bedrooms is spacious and very easy to share, and all the walk-outs onto different terraces made the stay so delightful: everyone had their own private area as well as comfortable shared areas. Only tip to give: more lighting in the living room area - we spent quite a bit of time there since the wifi did not seem to penetrate the thick villa walls, and more evening lighting would have been nice.

Use some of the cooking experiences Gianluigi [the owner] has outlined in the book: the pizza school was so much fun (and food!), and the breakfasts were huge, delicious and very reasonable.

Praiano is a perfect location: easy to get to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Pompei, Paestum, Capri, etc. But do allow time to just relax at the villa - it is absolutely delightful, and Gianluigi is always available to help in any way.

Summer In Italy is easy and wonderful to work with - I will definitely use this travel service in the future. I really enjoyed the newsletter. THANK YOU to all.

Travel tips

  • Walk down the steps into Praiano - and then down to the ocean - lots of steps but very good restaurants in town, a great Duomo square and beautiful sea views.
  • Gianluigi [the owner] has some good wines available, and the Tutti per Tutti store about a 20-minute walk away has good wines - get some bug spray for the flies which lurk around the outdoor dining area, and get some salt and pepper.

Very good

August 2012 - Villa Madonna di Costantinopoli is a marvelous house that our group enjoyed for 1 week last August.

The many terraces at multiple levels allows everyone to find a quiet place to relax.

The decor of the Villa is stupendous, the owners have exquisite taste, and this is very sincere, as our group is from Paris where good taste comes above all else!

The owners, their son, and our driver were all very nice and helpful.

I'm looking forward to renting the villa for at least two weeks for the summer of 2013!
