Fantastic

August 2023 - Brilliant location for exploring the area. Bus stop a few metres from the door, beautiful views, and Antonio [the caretaker] could not be more helpful.

Superb, personal service from the outset. Faultless. Have recommended Summer In Italy to friends and will 100% use them again. Grazie.

Travel tips

  • Buses are frequent, clean and cool. Don't try driving. Not worth the stress.

Lovely stay

October 2022 - Had a lovely stay at Villa Arcangela B. The property was good value for money and the host was very attentive to our queries in regards to the house and the surrounding sights.

Antonio [the caretaker] was a charming host.

Travel tips

  • All amenities were within distance of the property.
  • Even though we had a car it was more convenient to use the public transport system.
  • Day trips to Positano and Capri were well serviced by the ferry system.

Had a good time

May 2022 - We've had a very good time at Villa Arcangela B.

The caretaker was very friendly and helpful.

We've appreciated the VERY good support and information of your team. That gave us a good feeling. We've got our answers immediately. Incredible. Thank you for that.

Travel tips

  • No need to hire a car. You can get everywhere by bus, boat and train.
  • We went to Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Capri, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius. We had a car and we only used it to get to Pompeii...

Lovely place to stay

May 2022 - Lovely place to stay. Plenty of space and light and views. Only downside was having to go outside and use the stairs to get to the bedroom.

Antonio, who takes cares of the place, was warm, friendly, informative, helpful and enthusiastic.

All good.

Travel tips

  • Don't hire a car. We have made this mistake before when visiting Positano. Pay for taxis or use public transport instead. We tried to drive to Paestum which is 40 miles and 2 hours away. We turned back after half an hour due to the stress caused by the roads being too narrow.

Fantastic

September 2021 - Beautiful spot for us - one couple and sister. Would not recommend for 2 couples as there is no second bedroom but for one additional guest or 2 kids - perfect.

Loved the rustic interior with the modern baths. Kitchen was small but very adequate. Living room was lovely and cool all the time and nice and airy.

Maria [the caretaker] was extremely helpful to us as we had arrived late in the evening - she went out to the small bar to get us pizza!

Bus service to town was regular and easily accessed. We also walked to the mercato which had lots of food items and a small meat/vegetable section.

Overall the villa was more than adequate for us. We did not intend on renting a car, so the bus service was great and inexpensive to the towns on the Amalfi coast.

I was extremely pleased with the service from Summer in Italy. First of all, Luca got in touch with me immediately when I first emailed him. He continued to correspond in a timely matter and answered all of my queries. When I had to change our arrival time, he accommodated us and let the owner know. We received an extensive information package (via email) about the area and customs of where we staying which was invaluable. The directions to the villa were accurate and comprehensive and we received everything in good time to review before our trip. This allowed us to have a great deal of confidence in our choice of both the villa we booked and Summer In Italy. I highly recommend Summer In Italy to anyone planning to book a trip to Italy. Their personal service was most helpful and reassuring for a first time visitor.

Travel tips

  • Nice location but be prepared to walk many stairs both inside and up to the villa. Keep that in mind when packing suitcases as well, as there are no porters to help carry the bags. Not suitable for anyone that has mobility issues or small kids.
  • Lots of nice day trips from here to the islands and other towns on the coast.
  • Big plus - very serene, scenic and quiet, if you like that.
  • Excellent for hikers - there are great walking trails around the area and also to Amalfi.
  • There is a very good mercato close by that you can buy food and sundries. Again, many vertical stone stairs that will be challenging for anyone not sure footed.
  • Maria (the housekeeper) was wonderful and helped us tremendously.
  • We visited mid-September and swam in the Mediterranean - it was in the 30's almost every day!

Very good

July 2019 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Arcangela B.

It is a little off the beaten track and if relying on public transport it can pose some challenges in getting to and from.

Travel tips

  • Either have your own transport or print the bus schedule before leaving home.
  • We were recommended to an excellent nearby restaurant called Trattoria Da Ciccio Cielo Mare e Terra - having eaten there twice we highly recommend it.

June 2019 - Simple, excellent accommodation in beautiful location. Would have been nice to have restaurant closer but then probably would not have been so peaceful. View was spectacular.

We internet searched and picked on availability vs spec we wanted. Organisation was very satisfactory. Many thanks.

Travel tips

  • Get local bus details in advance as you can wait a long time for buses. Note that regular Pergerola bus to villa left Amalfi from different bus stop to main bus parking.
  • If you can treat yourself get a water taxi from Positano or Praiano back to the local bar gas beach - it's more fun than the buses and quicker!

August 2018 - We enjoyed very much our stay at Villa Arcangela. In our opinion is very comfortable and well located near Amalfi, that you can reach also by walking (20 minutes).

Travel tips

  • It's advisable, when possible, to arrive without car, the park is very small even if near the house, the bus service in costiera is good.

We loved Villa Arcangela B!

September 2017 - We are 2 women in our late 60s. We loved Villa Arcangela B! It was tranquil and had beautiful views, just up the hill, a short local bus ride from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi. It had everything we required for a 6 day stay and for cooking simple meals. We used the 2 day beds downstairs. The double bedroom is accessed via steps outside the main apartment, although this is a bit odd it is safe, self contained, easily accessible and has great views from the terrace.

Antonio [the caretaker] is a treasure. He checked in with us almost everyday but not in an intrusive way. He took us to a restaurant at the top of the hill that was magnificent, with great views, great food and staff that came to introduce themselves - even the chef, all at a good price. Antonio even organised a trip back to our accommodation. Maria, Antonio's wife, had the apartment in pristine condition for our visit.

Everyone's needs are different but Villa Arcangela B suited our needs perfectly. Big thanks to Antonio and Maria.

My dealings with Summer In Italy were seamless. Communication was clear and prompt and the information provided was just plain common sense. I have no hesitation in referring you to family and friends.

Travel tips

  • The supermarket is a short distance away and although it looks quite daunting it takes only about 10 minutes and the steps are worth the view on the way.
  • Tickets for the bus are available there and it is cheaper to buy a 24 hr ticket which allows you to travel along the Amalfi Coast for around 4 euro.
  • The church bells ring every hour, 15 mins, 1/2 hour and 3/4 hour but if you close the shutters, doors and turn on the air conditioner you can barely hear them. I am a light sleeper and they did not bother me.
  • The town of Amalfi is incredibly busy. We were there around mid September and tourist crowds were still high so get up early if you want to visit other places along the coast.

September 2017 - Wonderful retreat for those who prefer to enjoy the real Amalfi coast!

Close enough to the town of Amalfi to walk into town, but far enough removed to enjoy the local private beaches and real Italian pleasures of local produce sellers.

The perfect place to relax and soak up the best of Italy!

August 2017 - It was a lovely setting with friendly and helpful owners.

Beach was very near although all down and then back up, setting was very nice if you want to be in a less touristy part of the coast.

I would certainly recommend it to others.

I have found your service helpful, friendly and efficient. I would recommend you to friends and use you again.

September 2016 - The Villa was lovely.

Mrs Giovanna, the landlady was so sweet and helpful. Nothing felt like a problem for her and she really made us feel at home.

The villa was perfect for our needs, basic but comfortable.

The view was just gorgeous, both in front (sea) and behind (cliffs).

Thankfully there was a market close by (and Mrs Giovanna's mother had a lovely little shop nearby also.

Your instructions and information booklet were extremely helpful. I will without a doubt we recommending your services to others and can't wait to book our next holiday with Summer In Italy!

Travel tips

  • We opted not to hire a car and found taxis very expensive (€25 for 2.5 km from Amalfi to the villa!).
  • Although we walked into the village most days getting home was sometimes a struggle.
  • If you could make it down the billion steps to the beach (if you do, definitely stop for pasta at one of the 2 restaurants on the beach!) a water taxi is a cheap and easy way to get to Amalfi.
