September 2011 - We had a lovely holiday at Casa Rosina. Beautiful grounds and outdoor areas, short and level walk to a fantastic beach, and a very helpful and friendly host in Silvestro. Amazing villages to explore inland too, with stunning mountains everywhere.
The grounds were lovely and we found it very easy to relax there, although we could sometimes hear the music and entertainments in the distance coming from the many holiday parks of Ascea Marina - it's a very busy resort in the summer because of its fabulous beach.

August 2010 - Our overall experience at Casa Rosina was above average.
There was not a proper living room, but as the weather was so nice most of the time was spent outside on the terrace or down the beach.
We did enjoy it tremendously as having our 3 granddaughters with us the outside area was ideal for them to run around in a very safe environment.
Silvestro was a wonderful host, even arranging an evening at a restaurant where everybody who was staying on the complex was invited and it turned out to be a lovely evening.
I would rate the service received from Summer In Italy as excellent.

August 2009 - Our family (two adults and four children) had a wonderful time at Casa Rosina. We felt that we got a truly authentic experience of southern Italy and we loved it!
The owner, Signor Silvestro, was an extremely welcoming host, who really made sure that all his guests had a pleasant stay.
We can gladly recommend Casa Rosina and would happily return there many times in the future.
We have had a great experience booking our holiday through Summer In Italy, and don't think you should change anything. Your newsletter with tips on Italy was also very good and informative.

July 2009 - We absolutely enjoyed our stay in Casa Rosina!
On top of all things listed in Casa Rosina description and in the voucher, we were given some minor but necessary things for travelling with small babies, like children's high chair.
Summer in Italy has a really good service and high attention to details. Very good service overall, thank you!

June 2009 - We enjoyed our two-week stay very much.
Nice big garden with party court, grass playground and authentic pizza stove, fragrant lemons, olive trees, walking distance from kilometers long sand beach and embankment live at night. Lot of fairly good Italian restaurants around.
Cosy casa. Never hot inside. You have all you need to cook, sleep, keep yourself and your clothes clean and dry. Spacious bedrooms.
But special advantage is hospitality of Mr Silvestro. His lack of skills in English is many times compensated by his attention and help in every wish you have. Do you want solar umbrella or armchair? Ask Silvestro. A special restaurant around? He can take you there. Limoncello? You can have fun making it together. Then a pizza party where you make your own pizzas will come.
Travel tips
- In the kitchen there is an antimosquito electric unit. Ask Silvestro to show it to you.

Travel tips
- Marina di Ascea seems to be a place most visited by Italians (at least in the second half of July). We met a few German families, but no-one else from other countries. Our very limited knowledge of Italian therefore reduced our stay somewhat, since most people around us didn't seem to understand much English or German.
- The village is also a bit to far away from most sights, with an hour of driving just to reach the autostrada. So the site is maybe better fit for a bathing vacation than as a hub to reach the more famous places.
- We took the train to Naples (1 km from Casa Rosina to the train station) and a boat (from Casal Velino - 5 km away) to Capri. Both trips took about 2 hours each way, and we did not have that much time on the sights before we had to go back. But at least we did get there without much driving, even though we had a car available during our entire two weeks.
- Driving in these areas can be rather stressful to a Nordic driver, though, at least in the beginning.
- By car we went to Vesuvio, Pompei, Agropoli, Paestum, Salerno and Grotte di Pertosa (caves with stalactite and stalagmite conformation) without any serious trouble. A GPS is recommended.
- The center of Marina di Ascea has a lot of small tourist shops, and a larger supermarket, Eurospar, with all you need for home cooking.
- Our favorite restaurant in Marina di Ascea was Bacco at the Hotel Bacco in the northern parts of the Marina di Ascea, a few hundred meters from the main road, Via di Porta Rosa.
- In Marina di Ascea, you will also find a few gas stations, ATMs, hospital and a postal office.

May 2008 - Words can't describe... arms out wide... spinning... smiling...
Casa Rosina was a wonderful place to take the kids, with lots of space to run around, and a short walk to the beach.
It was also a great base of operations for taking day trips around southern Italy. Our vacation was a good mix of relaxing and touring.
Best of all was Signore Silvestro [the owner]. Helpful, kind, generous and lovely.
We had a wonderful experience with your web site. The site was recommended to us, and we have since recommended the site. (A LOT!!) Thank you!!!!

August 2006 - This was a fantastic holiday. In all our years of holidaying (there are many...) don't think we've ever encountered anyone to be more helpful, welcoming and accommodating than Silvestro and his family; nothing was a trouble.
Being invited to join the owners for a delicious Italian lunch, and an evening of dancing with their friends and relatives was a most thoughtful and enjoyable gesture.
The location of the property for us as a family was ideal; near enough but far enough from both the beach and town.
Very good!

July 2006 - The accommodation at Casa Rosina was basic, but clean, however the welcome was excellent. Silvestro and his family were friendly without being intrusive, very helpful, and the dancing was fun!
We made real lemon squash from the plentiful supply of fruit Silvestro provided, and wonderful limoncillo. We cooked with fresh basil, ate plums and nectarines from the garden. We felt that we had really been part of a local Italian family of great characters, if just for 2 weeks -- a special experience.
The beaches were some of the best we have ever experienced in the Med -- clean warm seas, scenic and natural surroundings, good sand, and refreshing 'granite' to keep cool with.
Ascea Marina was friendly, casual and relaxing, with enough facilities and good reasonably-priced restaurants for our stay. A great holiday!

April 2006 - We had a great holiday at Casa Rosina. The house has 2 double bedrooms and there was plenty of equipment in the kitchen. The large garden and lemon and olive grove make it ideal for families with children. The beach was about 5 minutes by foot and we were well placed for travelling around the area.
We were a bit worried on arrival as the train line is quite near but they were just far enough away so that despite having 2 light sleepers in the family nobody was kept awake.
However, the biggest asset of Casa Rosina has to be Silvestro [the owner] and his family. Amazingly friendly people. We arrived on Easter Saturday and were immediately invited to join the family for a delicious lunch on Easter Sunday.
Thoroughly recommend Casa Rosina to anyone who wants to have a relaxed holiday in a real Italian environment.

Oranges and satsumas were great as was local oil and lemoncello provided by host.

House well positioned for visiting lots of differnt coastal areas. Small friendly town.

July 2005 - Casa Rosina is a gem... a real find. It is in a small coastal town with only Italian vistitors. The house itself is set in a wonderful olive and fruit tree grove that the kids ran around all day. Mr Silvestro [the owner] could not have been more hospitable and friendly... and a really nice bloke too. His English isn't great but his French is better!
The house is 5 mins walk from the beach and a largish supermarket but you wouldn't know that as it is set back from the road. You share the gardens with the other families staying there... but the place is so big you don't feel crowded. My 6 and 3 year old made great friends with the 4 other children there (all Italian) and they had great time at the impromptu dance class that Mr Silvestro organised one evening.
We will definitely go back... it was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had. Being able to pick aubergines, courgettes, tomatoes, lemons, limes, apricots, plums and figs from the trees outside our window was the icing on the cake. This is the real deal... keep it quiet!

August 2004 - We enjoyed our holiday at Casa Rosina immensely. Silvestro [the owner] and family are warm, welcoming people who became good friends during our short visit.
The type of Italian hospitality that we experienced ranged from, being provided with fresh figs and other fruits from the garden, being invited for lunch with the family and our 14 year old daughter meeting loads of new friends and companions. She was busy all of the time.
All of the other families in the apartments were Italian and were keen to try out their English language skills with us (we were less successful with our Italian language skills although we tried hard).
In short, this is an excellent venue for families who like to embrace local culture and meet new people. We Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!! and would definately go again.
We were impressed with everything about Summer in Italy. We found you to be professional, competent and very thorough.

August 2004 - If you choose Casa Rosina, you become a member of Silvestro & Daniela's family!
Unbelievable hospitality from the kindest of hosts. Fruit just appeared on our table: plums, pears and figs straight from the tree!
On our final evening Silvesto & Daniela organised dinner for 26! We were not allowed to contribute, everyone just joined in and helped with the preparation. Watching my son learn from 'Nonna' (Grandma) how to marinate fish for the barbecue was a very special moment! We ate four courses, under the stars, of the best Italian food ever - spaghetti, bruschetta, pizzalette, fish, watermelon, profiteroles, icecream and, of course, a little of Silvestro's liqueur to finish!
We had a very special week at Casa Rosina thanks to the hospitality and friendship shown by Silvestro, Daniela and the other guests.
As I said earlier, we all became part of the family!

April 2004 - The owner of Casa Rosina is wonderful! Extremely friendly and helpful. Casa Rosina is well located within the town and fairly easy to travel elsewhere in Italy from it. Very peaceful and tranquil, great sun patio. Really neat yard filled with olive and lemon trees!

April 2004 - We loved Casa Rosina. The accomodation was spacious and comfortable and there was plenty of space and furniture for outdoor living too. The sun deck is secluded and the walk through the orange and lemon groves is gorgeous. The supermarket is very handy and the village has lots of good shops. Fresh fish in abundance.
The owner is a delight. He is very friendly always calling in with an extra something. Oranges, lemons, wine, oil, easter cake, travel advice, sun loungers, extra towels......... He made us feel like friend rather than clients. It is easy to use the railway to visit Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento.
We will visit again!!!

July 2003 - We had an absolutely fantastic holiday at Casa Rosina. From the initial booking of our holiday with Summer in Italy to answering our questions and keeping us informed your service was excellent.
Casa Rosina was a lovely find for us, it was very clean and well kept, set in beautiful surroundings. The owner of the property, Silvestro, and his family made us feel welcome from day one.
The beach was very nice and the Italian people we met were very friendly, although we were the only English family in the resort (we didn't hear one other English person after leaving Naples Airport) after the first few days people on the beach would greet us when we arrived and say goodbye as we left. This was our first visit to Italy as a family and we look forward to returning soon.

June 2003 - I am really impressed with the level of your service. I want to compliment you first on being so efficient and helpful in replying to all my queries and questions.
Me and my family had a great time while staying at Casa Rosina. Everything was even better than we expected in spite of the fact that our holiday started from a sad note when our 3-year old son happened to get an ear infection just minutes after we had arrived at Casa Rosina. signor Silvestro, the owner of the place, arranged for our son to go to the hospital straight away while it was a public holiday in Italy and I presumed we would have to wait until next day! Another hour later he arranged for all necessary medication for our son and we couldn't believe how fast and painlessly everything was sorted.
The villa itself was being looked after to a very high standard, very quiet and clean. The garden was just beautiful. I really cannot name a single thing that I did not like during the two weeks that we stayed at Casa Rosina and signor Silvestro is one of the most polite and kind people we have ever met.
I am grateful for all your help and service and I will be recommending your services to other people.

May 2003 - When I asked my husband and children to give me one word to describe our stay at Casa Rosina they came up with "relaxing", "wonderful", "excellent", "fun" and "nice". These words really do reflect how we all felt.
The villa was perfect for children, it was away from the road so they were safe. There was plenty of lovely space for them to run around and explore. Lots to see, lemon, orange and olive trees. They enjoyed the swings, see-saw, table tennis, volleyball, and basketball. The beach was close by and easy to get to. Whenever we went out for the day they kept asking to go back! They only wanted the beach and the villa!
Silvestro was an attentive and kind host. Nothing was too much trouble for him (there were lovely scented flowers in the kitchen when we arrived -- a nice touch) and he was well informed about local places of interest. I think the children will remember his pizza oven for a long time.
We were not disappointed with the accommodation. It was of a high standard and matched the information we had been given. We all had a really wonderful holiday and everyone is extra keen for me to book again for next year already, and I've promised that I will soon. We can't wait.

Casa Rosina is a very good place to enjoy a relaxing time with family or friends: clean, easy to stay!! The surroundings are very beautiful, and the beach and sea at Ascea are amazing.
Signore Silvestro [the owner] is one of the most friendly person I have met. Anything you need, he is there to help and give you some advice.
And yes, if a have chance, I'll be back to Ascea.
