October 2022 - Very beautiful view of the sea and Positano. We loved exploring the shops/restaurants in Positano as well. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Ms. Connie was very sweet and helpful, bringing us pizza and drinks and wine the first night after our long journey as well as a delicious breakfast and cappuccino the next mornings of our stay.

Summer In Italy was a very helpful tool in learning about the area and were always quick to answer my questions!

Bright and comfortable apartment, gardens and ** views ** are nothing short of incredible

September 2022 - We arrived and were greeted by Connie’s husband who graciously brought our two large and heavy suitcases up all of the steps (yes, steps, it’s a beautiful walk!). It was a very warm welcome! Connie is an angel on Earth. She is friendly and warm, and she makes the best eggs and cappuccino you will ever have. We absolutely love her.

Now, the apartment! The gardens and views are nothing short of incredible. Photos are accurate. We moved from Hotel Caruso in Ravello to Connie’s apartment and were so impressed with the beauty the family have created. The apartment is bright and comfortable, the king bed is comfortable. Bathroom is cute and clean; bring shampoo, conditioner. There is a good blow dryer. If you plan to use the laundry machine make sure you bring laundry soap. We enjoyed the pretty kitchen, and although we did not have occasion to cook, I noted that the kitchen is well stocked if you choose to cook.

We personally enjoyed the steps and even continued past the apartment all the way (1700 steps) to the Path of the Gods. I recommend it if you are fit but definitely bring a bottle of water for the trek. We are fit ages 50 and 57 and didn’t have any trouble. There is a cafe near the top where you can purchase additional drinks, but you will want water before then. It was quite nice that this epic “hike” is continued via the same steps up to the apartment.

Wonderful stay - we will return! We already miss Connie and family as they feel like wonderful friends and neighbours.

Absolutely perfect!

October 2021 - Casa Odetta was absolutely perfect!

The view, the location and most of all Connie [the owner]! We had the best cappuccino and breakfast each morning. She also helped of navigate the area and provided grocery service. We could not have been happier.

It's perfect!

Summer In Italy was amazing! Excellent communication the entire time. We will definitely book again!

Travel tips

  • We walked to and from Positano central each day and although a little unnerving at first with all the traffic, we got used to it quickly.
  • We loved being able to leave the villa and take stairs up to Nocelle and hike Path of the Gods.
  • Capri was one of our favorite day trips!

We love Casa Odetta

September 2019 - Best host ever! Best morning eggs and cappuccino ever!

As the reviews have posted, it is quite the trek up to the apartment, but it is totally worth it. We actually enjoyed the exercise because we didn't have a gym. It was also nice being off the beaten path and to come home to a quiet spot. I would recommend packing a flashlight if you plan to come back at night as we did. The cell phone light was not strong enough.

It was so beautiful there, my now fiance proposed on our balcony. We loved Connie's spot so much, we plan to come back in the future.

A piece of Heaven!!

September 2019 - What a wonderful time we had at Casa Odetta.

Mrs. Connie was the perfect host and makes the best cappuccino ever. She was very helpful about giving information regarding local attractions.

The apartment was well appointed and had everything we needed. There really are over 200 steps to get to the apartment so this requires a certain level of fitness and some planning if you want to purchase heavy souvenirs!

There are delivery services for groceries however so if you want to chillax on the patio and enjoy the gorgeous view, you can arrange for all your needs to be delivered to your doorstep.

Thank you Mrs. Connie for making this a memorable week at your lovely home!!

An amazing location for our honeymoon!

May 2019 - Casa Odetta was an amazing location for our honeymoon! It was relaxing, it had amazing views and it was the perfect home to explore Positano, but all was far enough away that we felt like we were living with the locals. The terrace is breathtaking - there were mandarins, oranges and lemons in bloom during our trip.

Connie [the owner] was an amazing host and was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had and was such a kind host. She made us incredible cappuccinos in the morning!

Travel tips

  • If you are worried about the distance from Positano, stop worrying! It is a relaxing 15-20 minute walk into town with a gorgeous view of the coast the entire way.
  • One tip we received from our driver was that there are many restaurants in the area that will pick you up at your place and drive you to their restaurant and back, free of charge. Connie helped arrange this for us a few nights and it was great!

May 2019 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Odetta.

The singular highlight is the view (can't emphasize how beautiful it is). In addition, the unit is nicely laid out and spacious, and has a splendid little outdoor area directly facing the ocean.

The owner was very easygoing and flexible.

One thing to note is that the 'path of the gods' is exactly that -- lots of stairs to get up into the property, but for that your reward is the view!

Overall we recommend wholeheartedly. And would stay here again.

Enjoyed the accommodation!

May 2019 - We enjoyed the accommodation! Bed was comfortable and the view was amazing.

It was a bit more out of town than expected and the 260 some stairs was a bit overwhelming after walking ever day so we did feel a bit more isolated than we expected.

Connie was an excellent host and helped us out a lot. She even made us cappuccinos for a few days of our stay!

Would book with Summer In Italy again.

Very good

June 2018 - Plenty of reviews about the views, steps, and fantastic host, so I won't repeat what's already been said. One thing I will note is that even though the house is about a 20-minute walk into town (including the steps), that walk is on the windy Positano roads that do not have any sidewalks. We did it a couple times but generally didn't feel comfortable, so the bus was an adequate option. It runs pretty much every hour and is €1.30 if you buy in advance, €1.80 if on the bus.

Great experience and communication.

Travel tips

  • Most of the outlets are not the standard outlet that guests will have adapters for. In order to use your adapter, you'll need to grab a second, different adapter from the television in the living room.

We loved it!

June 2018 - We loved this clean, authentic large one bed property. The garden flowers were beautiful with all the butterflies. Casa Odetta is quite a few steps up but we were certainly fitter by the end of our week. We would definitely stay in the lovely Casa Odetta again.

Our host Connie was lovely and was on hand if we needed her. The chicken eggs Connie offered were a real treat. Thank you again for you hospitality.

I found Summer In Italy by chance and they were amazing to book through. Friendly, helpful, at any time. I would use this company again without a doubt. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • You have to be fairly fit to climb all the steps but we thought it was well worth it. We were not too far to walk into Positano town in fact we liked the walk along the winding road.
  • We visited the beach opposite the the main road at the bottom of the steps and had some lovely fish for lunch. It has a blue flag to the many steps down to it. You can get the water taxi over to Positano when you leave the beach.

Fantastic

September 2017 - Casa Odetta is a lovely apartment, very clean and comfortable, with stunning views from a generous terrace. The terrace has a nice eating space and lay out chairs. The only real issue is the considerable climb up to the villa from the road. Your cases are carried up and down by the host, but you do need to have reasonable level of fitness for the climb especially if it is hot.

The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They were great in every respect and helped with shopping, provided local produce like fruit, and assisted with phone calls when it looked like road closures would present difficulties with the trip home. I would like to express our thanks to them.

Summer In Italy communication and service was clear and helpful. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • We hired a car but you have to park it on the road. There is plenty of comings and goings so finding a space is not a problem, but the coast road is narrow and it was a worry wondering if we would find the car without a bump or scratch. It was ok, but this is not ideal.
  • Driving on the Amalfi Coast is hazardous, due to the narrow road.
  • Take the boat would be my advice. You can travel to many destinations from Positano by boat. We did the coast trip by boat and this was a great day out.

July 2017 - Casa Odetta is a good place for couples and people who want to discover the Amalfi Coast and have a relaxing place to come back at the end of the day.

October 2016 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Odetta. It's peaceful and the view can't be beat.

It's a beautiful location in Positano. Yes... there are a lot of steps. >However, we ate our way through Italy and didn't gain any weight. I contribute that to all of the walking and hiking up and down those steps. They definitely get the heart pumping.

Mrs Connie [the owner] is kind and helpful when needed. Never intrusive which we appreciated. It felt like we were in our own home. Thank you Mrs Connie and Family. And a special shout out to her neighbor Giovanni who is equally kind and helpful.

Found you on Tripadvisor. Read reviews on your company on other sites and found them to be true. We would use Summer in Italy again. I have no complaints. Excellent service.

Travel tips

  • Definitely, explore the other little towns along the coast. Particularly Ravello. It's beautiful.
  • Get some wristbands designed to prevent motion sickness. Like car and seasickness. I used them on the winding roads, the boat rides and never got sick. Much better than those drugs that make you sleepy.

September 2016 - The owners were especially friendly and took great pain to see to our every need. Beautiful location and view of Li Galli Islands - most of the luxury yachts moor just in front of the house.

The steps and distance from the town can take a bit of getting used to but adds to the nostalgia and beauty of the place.

Summer In Italy did a fantastic job and helped make the whole process so easy with really helpful advice. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Recommend using the bus to visit Sorrento and Amalfi.
  • Do not visit Naples - it is filthy and a painful journey by train.
  • Some fantastic boutiques in town, great restaurants (Chez Black), Music On The Rocks for nightlife is good and great beaches/water to swim in.

June 2016 - Immaculate, large apartment with a beautiful terrace with an amazing sea view. We enjoyed our vacation very much. It was peaceful and very relaxing. Loved the large private terrace with that wonderful view. Large, fully furnished apartment. Very pleased with the accommodations.

The owner Connie was wonderful. Helpful, friendly and pleasant. The property was extremely well kept. There is nothing that we can recommend to make the stay better. It was wonderful!

We would definitely book with you again. This is our second trip with you. Very pleased with the service and fast reply from your staff. Bravo!

Travel tips

  • 20 minute walk into Positano. The bus stop into town is down on the street below the apartment. Shops, wonderful restaurants nearby all in beautiful Positano.
  • Day trip to Capri.
  • In Positano would recommend La Cambusa and Chez Black for lunch or dinner.
  • Ravello is a must see.
  • Many steps up to the apartment.

May 2016 - We had the greatest time in Positano while staying at Casa Odetta! The view was outstanding from the terrace.

Mrs. Conny [the owner] had a welcome gift of limoncello and fresh eggs from her own hens. Her husband was a lifesaver when he carried our suitcases up the steps. We got used to the steps after a couple of days.

We would stay at Casa Odetta again and again.

Your suggestion to use Taxi Positano for our transport from Rome and back was great. Lucio Macri went out of his way to make it fun and for a reasonable cost.

Travel tips

  • Have some good shoes and enjoy the 10 minute walk to center of Positano.
  • We enjoyed the cafes for either a coffee or a glass of wine.
  • There is some fun shopping.

June 2015 - Casa Odetta is a very pretty, immaculate, and comfortable villa with a gracious and helpful host, Connie. She greeted us with a fruit platter and made us a delicious zucchini pasta dish with the zucchini from her garden. She was there if you needed assistance with anything. On our last day, we carelessly left our passports behind and didn't realize it until we arrived in Rome. We called Connie and she found our passports and arranged for her brother, who has a car service, to bring them to us in Rome. Such great service and kindness. We were so grateful!

The view from Casa Odetta is amazing! The terrace is large and has beautiful flowers. You have to climb 250 steps to get to the villa, but the view is worth it. Besides everywhere on the Amalfi coast you have to climb stairs. Casa Odetta is about a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Positano. There you will find a lovely beach, restaurants, shops, bars, art galleries, the Duomo, hotels, markets, etc. Also, from there you have several options for getting around the Amalfi Coast. There are taxis, ferries and buses. One of the reasons that I liked Casa Odetta is because it wasn't right in the center of Positano, which can get very crowded, but you could easily walk there. The location was perfect for exploring the entire coast. We went to many towns and villages with ease.

I would highly recommend Casa Odetta. The accommodations, view, price, and location were wonderful.

October 2014 - Excellent house with beautiful terrace, garden, and view. The house is in a peaceful location that is an approximate 15 minute walk from town. One of the best parts of the location is the access to Arienzo Beach, which was by far our favorite beach and located immediately below (a few hundred steps down) the house.

The owner of Casa Odetta was gracious enough to leave us fresh fruit from the garden.

Very good experience.

Travel tips

  • From the house, take the steps down to Arienzo Beach.
  • From the house, take the steps up to the village of Nocelle and continue hiking.

September 2014 - I loved Casa Odetta.

It was spotlessly clean and its facilities were of a very high standard, the kitchen had everything needed. There's an excellent clothes washer, hairdryer and iron in the bathroom. I loved that the bedroom and lounge both had doors out to the amazing terrace. The beautiful terrace enjoys sun from sunrise to sunset and the most stunning sea views.

The owners who live above were very welcoming, generous with their time and helpful with directions and questions. They also offered us a plate of beautiful figs from their tree. An added bonus were the daily visits from the owner’s cat Ricci - very friendly and great company.

My stay at Casa Odetta was definitely a highlight of my wonderful Italian holiday.

The booking process was very easy. I have booked many holiday homes in Italy and your process was very easy to follow. Thank you also for your helpful advice and many emails during the booking process. You made booking the property very easy. The notes and directions I received after final payment was very comprehensive and helpful.

I will certainly book through Summer In Italy again - thank you :)

Travel tips

  • Location is perfect for a peaceful break. Just 10-15 minutes walk out of the rush and bustle of Positano town and a short walk down to beautiful Arienzo Beach and fabulous restaurants.
  • There are steps up to the house from the road, my advise is to travel light.
  • On and off trains and buses to get to Positano is less stressful with less luggage to struggle with.

July 2014 - We LOVED Casa Odetta.

The view is second to none. While the inside of the apartment is very nice and sparklingly clean, the large balcony is what really makes this place amazing. You are overlooking the ocean and have a great view of the town of Positano to your right.

We had no issues whatsoever. Senora Connie [the owner] was very kind. Her husband met us at our taxi when we arrived and carried our luggage up the stairs to the apartment. Connie brought us homemade cake and tomato salad from her garden.

We really enjoyed Casa Odetta and highly recommend it.

We will be sure to book with you again whenever we return to beautiful Italy. Luca was very nice and professional. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Future guests may want to know that you must walk up more than 200 steps to get to the apartment. It definitely gets your heart pumping, but, for us, it was more than worth it as the apartment was so nice and the view amazing. After all, Positano is basically built into the mountains so there are stairs everywhere.
  • Also, the apartment is a little walk to the town of Positano. I would estimate it took us about 15 minutes. Also, there are no sidewalks on the street and it is very narrow. There are buses, however, that stop right at the bottom of the stairs below the apartment. The buses only come every hour and sometime every hour and twenty minutes. Connie [the owner] gave us a bus schedule and we found ourselves timing the bus appropriately.

July 2014 - We loved our stay at Casa Odetta. The views of the sea and coastline from the private terrace were breathtaking. The villa was in great condition and spotlessly clean with all the amenities you would expect.

The owner Mrs. Connie was very welcoming and helpful -- she even did some grocery shopping for us on our first day!

The villa is in a very peaceful location -- about a 15 minute walk into Positano town. Be prepared though for the 250 steps to reach the villa from the road!

Overall, a wonderful holiday at Casa Odetta -- highly recommended!

Booking with Summer in Italy was very straightforward and hassle free.

Travel tips

June 2014 - My sister and I truly enjoyed our 2 weeks at Casa Odetta. If I were to retire anywhere in the world - Positano is the place I'd go and I'd rent from the owners long-term. That would be a dream come true and that's how much we fell in love with Casa Odetta and Positano.

The owners were very friendly and extremely gracious. The location was perfect. Very clean - very comfortable - very peaceful. The owners made us feel at home from the moment we arrived - to the time we left.

I have told everyone about how we were lucky to find Summer in Italy and how you went above and beyond in helping us choose just the right place for our vacation. We had been searching on-line for an apartment rental for many weeks - and Summer in Italy was the most available and responsive to our many inquiries about various locations in Italy. We felt very comfortable and confident in making arrangements through Summer In Italy and will absolutely recommend them. This was our first international excursion and we will definitely use Summer In Italy if we are fortunate enough to return.

Travel tips

  • There are 147 steps up to the apartment - but there are steps everywhere you go along the Amalfi coast so unless you are physically unable to walk up the steps - don't let that change your mind about renting Casa Odetta.
  • The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, plates, cookware, a refrigerator, stove, oven and microwave. They have a hairdryer and washing machine, as well as clean/fresh linens and towels. No clothes dryer - which is not unusual for this region, but the clothes smell great after drying on the clothes lines.
  • You are able to have groceries delivered from the local supermarket - the phone number is handy in the foyer desk along with lots of brochures and local information.
  • There is an Internet Cafe at the beach in Positano which is in walking distance.
  • We enjoyed shopping for linens and lace made in Positano as well as ceramics from Positano and the local region.
  • The bus stop is directly at the bottom of the steps of Casa Odetta. The SITA bus goes from Sorrento to Salerno, and there is a local bus that goes from Positano to Amalfi.
  • We went to Pompeii via SITA and rail. We went to Amalfi and bought and tasted their famous Limoncello. We took a ferry to Capri one day and a bus to Salerno another day. We walked down the Nocelle trail steps - which, by the way, passes right by the door step of Casa Odetta! Every day was filled with new adventures and we walked, and walked, and walked and ate, and ate, and ate, and shopped, and shopped, and shopped making the most of every hour of every day and didn't even gain a pound!
  • Best advice for US travelers - do not fly through Atlanta. Best advice for International travelers - avoid De Gaulle airport in Paris if possible.
  • Pack lightly with comfortable clothes - a sweater for the cool evenings and comfortable walking shoes.

June 2014 - Casa Odetta was a fabulous, spacious apartment with amazing views of the Amalfi coast from the private terrace.

You should be aware that this property is not suitable for guests with low fitness or lack of mobility as it is 260 steps (I counted them!) to the nearest road and a further 15 minute walk into Positano however as a youngish couple we thought the location was excellent as it was far enough out of town to be quiet during the day whilst all of the day trippers are in Positano yet close enough to walk into town for dinner.

The terrace is lovely and sunny with great views out to sea and is equipped with sun loungers as well as table and chairs for the days when we chose to stay in and relax.

Travel tips

  • The restaurants in Montepertuso, which is at the top of the hill/mountain will all send complementary taxi's to collect you and bring you back if you book a table with them for dinner. Much preferable to the 1700 steps you have to walk up if you choose to make your own way there!

May 2014 - My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon for 4 nights. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. It was a very peaceful location with beautiful views of the Mediterranean.

I would say that a drawback of the location was the roughly 250 steps we had to climb to reach the location and the additional 20 minute walk to the center of Positano. However, if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing location outside of town then this is for you.

It's on a stepped path (200 steps up from road) that joins the famous Path of The Gods walk. Straight down steps to beach (400 steps). A bit of climbing and descending to do on the steps.

View is fantastic, beautiful terrace. Owners live in the second apartment upstairs. They are very helpful and non intrusive.

October 2013 - We loved Casa Odetta, and were well cared for by Signora Connie and her husband throughout our week.

I think the apartment's peaceful, beautiful location on the far edge of Positano and high above the road were well worth any extra minutes of walking and climbing involved.

September 2013 - Casa Odetta is lovely. You will definitely enjoy your time there. It is however on the outside of town about a 15 minute walk to the center of Positano.

Signora Connie [the owner] was terrific -- very kind, always smiling.

July 2013 - The property was excellent, with fantastic views and we enjoyed our stay.

The owner was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay and conversation with her, as well as the garden produce she graciously gave us to taste. It was a real pleasure.

Travel tips

  • There are no shop or restaurant close by to Casa Odetta, it is not too much of a problem, as the walk to nearby Positano is pleasant.

June 2013 - We really enjoyed Casa Odetta, the view was amazing and you really didn't have to leave the apartment.

There are many steps to the apartment, as everywhere in the Amalfi coast, but the good news is that you will stay fit although enjoying food and wine!

Mrs. Connie [the owner] was incredibly nice and always helpful, we felt much better staying at Casa Odetta than at a regular hotel.

We experienced excellent service throughout the trip with Summer in Italy. Questions about location and special requests have been handled very quickly and I'm impressed by the level of your service! I will most definitely recommend you to everyone I know. Thank you very much!

Travel tips

  • I would definitely recommend to go hiking, we had our best experiences hiking. Check out the Path of God's and also the Paper-mill hike from Amalfi.
  • Staying at Casa Odetta we enjoyed the little beach just down the road much more than the beach in Positano. Better water and more private.

October 2012 - Casa Odetta is the most beautiful, peaceful and charming apartment. It is spotlessly clean.

The owner is a warm, friendly person who would do anything to make your stay enjoyable. We fell in love with her. She made us feel like honored guests.

I would recommend the Casa Odetta to anyone traveling in the area.

Your service was very easy to use, and I would consider it again. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • The only possible drawback to the apartment is that there are several hundred steep steps required to reach it. We loved the enhanced privacy the out-of-the-way location afforded us, but it is not the accommodation for anyone who is physically handicapped.

October 2012 - We loved it. A beautiful and comfortable apartment in a delightful place with stunning views, and right on one of the paths into the mountains.

Signora Connie was an excellent hostess, helpful and friendly - and her offers of fresh produce from the garden and delicious examples of local cuisine were very much appreciated.

Thoroughly recommended. Some people might be put off by the number of steps up from the road, but in practice it is only a couple of minutes up to the apartment, and the location and views amply repay the effort invested!

We booked with you as you had apartments available where we wanted to be; we're very pleased with the result and the service we have received. Thanks!

Travel tips

  • Signora Connie sent her son to help with carrying the suitcase up to the apartment, which made things very easy on arrival.
  • Public transport links are excellent for those who, like us, don't want the nuisance of a car.
  • Pack mosquito repellent!
  • We used the Sunflower walking guide to help us work out the best of the local walks, they're all great but we can thoroughly recommend the Sentiero degli Dei from Bomerano to Positano, and the walk up to the Caserma, west to Santa Maria then back down to Positano.
  • The Alimentari in Montepertuso is splendid.

September 2012 - Casa Odetta was very enjoyable.

Mrs Connie [the owner] provided us with samples of Italian cooking.

The only downside is the number of steps however it makes you fit by the end of the holiday.

The local bus to the centre of Positano is very good and worth using.

A good place to stay and the accommodation is very spacious and in excellent order. The outside area on the patio is very large with direct views across the sea to Capri.

May 2012 - It was beautiful and the owners were really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed fresh produce from the garden and although the steps were hard going, the views were absolutely fantastic...

We were there for a wedding and didn't want to be close to the town but a bit further out. So the location was perfect for us as was the peace and quiet.

Thank you Summer in Italy, I felt well informed from the time of booking and the information was really well presented and easy to follow.

Travel tips

  • We used the buses and walked everywhere, it was enjoyable.
  • The highlight of the holiday was the Path of Gods. Well worth the climb and an excellent way to get away from all the tourists. The locals were so friendly and one restaurant served us food even after they had finished up!
