Wonderful house near Montepulciano
June 2025 - Wonderful house in the outskirts of Montepulciano immersed in olive trees but with easy access to all the amenities of the town, which can be reached with a 20-minute walk.
The outdoor area and the pool are fantastic, offering privacy and the ability to dine al fresco throughout the day. The house has all the amenities one needs to feel at home. The view of Montepulciano and the surrounding countryside is stunning.
We enjoyed Montepulciano but also visited many other beautiful towns that are within 30-min to 1 hour drive from the house.
Lastly, the host was incredibly attentive. He was in touch before and throughout our stay and managed to have the washing machine fixed promptly. In sum, this is a gem of a house in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany.
Travel tips
- We had a fantastic meal at Castello di Fighine, which merits a visit not only for the food but also for a visit to this incredibly preserved hamlet. Be prepared to drive for a while on an unpaved road: it’s worth it!
- Pienza also merits a visit. For few Euros you can buy a ticket that allows you to visit several palaces and venues in town. Also, check out the shops that sell the famous pecorino di Pienza! You won’t be able to resist.
- Make a stop also in Bagni Vignoni where you can have lunch and bathe in the natural hot springs that were used by the Romans for free.

July 2024 - Casa Moscatella was an amazing experience. Fantastic property, well-equipped, spacious and just ticked every box for us.
Everything was perfect - we will definitely stay here again.
This is our third trip to Italy booking villas in Tuscany with Summer In Italy. I will continue to book with you as the service and quality of the properties is better than anywhere else we have stayed. Please get more properties on your list so we can stay at more locations when we come back!!
Travel tips
- Definitely worth having a car but I walked into the historic town every day in about 20 mins.
- Lots of fabulous places to eat in the historic village - better value as you went further up the hill.
- The villa was very well equipped to cook your own food.

AMAZING!
July 2024 - This place is AMAZING! The villa has so much character, the views are unreal and the garden is huge! We loved the private pool and it’s views of Montepulciano.
The owner was so friendly and helpful, amenable to our late check in time and when we requested a highchair, he was quick to respond and bought us one the same day.
The kitchen had so many things provided that were helpful (washing up liquid, cling film, etc) as well as staple cooking condiments (oil, salt etc)...
I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely perfect stay, thank you. :)

June 2024 - What a beautiful property and convenient location. Very comfortable for 6 people as we travelled throughout the region with 4 of our adult children. We definitely used the pool for relaxing in mid-afternoon, played games on the outside patio late into the night, cooked a couple meals in the kitchen and truly just enjoyed the beauty of the property. We’ll be back!

Relaxing place with superb views.
May 2024 - The views across to Montepulciano, the garden and the outdoor spaces were superb. Lots of places to sit and relax, to eat and to BBQ.
We loved the wildflowers in the garden and the wonderful bird life, spotting golden orioles and hoopoes on a daily basis, and so loved watching the swallows swoop down to the pool every evening in search of insects or to drink. The welcome we received from Franco and Enzo [the caretakers] was excellent, and we knew they were on hand if we needed anything.
We found the info and updates from Summer in Italy very useful and informative.
Travel tips
- Strolling round Montepulciano was a delight, as was nearby Pienza.
- A visit to Siena is a must.

August 2023 - We had a wonderful time in Casa Moscatella!
The garden and the view were outstanding! Being on the patio-terrace, with the barbecue in the shade overlooking the wonderful garden and fruit trees was so nice! Also the house was wonderful!
It felt like living in a fairy tail with the stairs, all the colorful rooms and the antique furniture!

July 2023 - We loved the villa. Just what we'd want for a Tuscan villa - traditional. Lovely view up to Montepulciano and down into the valley. Beautiful garden. Great pool. Clean and comfortable.
Travel tips
- Shop in supermarket opposite meeting point in Montepulciano before you go to villa.
- Make use of the shuttle bus to get you to the top of Montepulciano then you can see the sights and views then walk down and browse in the shops.
- We went to Pienza (don't believe Lonely Planet guide -- wasn't busy, beautiful place, lovely views and great food) and Monticchiello instead of driving to Florence and Siena - much more relaxing!
- Take citronella to repel the insects while sitting outside at night.
- Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper - the neighbourhood dogs like to bark at night. Didn't bother us so much. Don't let it put you off as the villa is a treasure.

September 2022 - We enjoyed Casa Moscatella. We were three couples and had plenty of room.
The kitchen was well stocked (we cooked breakfast every day and two dinners.), pots, pans, dishes, glasses etc,, we did need a large knife and Mr. Franco [the owner] brought it to us.
It was very easy to check in and out of Casa Moscatella. Location was perfect for a lot of day trips to different hill top towns and cities.
Mr. Franco was very helpful in giving us information about the area and recommend some places to eat (made reservations).
The communication between Summer In Italy and myself were easy. You made our trip enjoyable, we knew what to expect and were prepared for our check in and check out.

Very well equipped property, beautiful landscape
July 2021 - We (4 people) stayed in this beautiful old holiday home for only one week in June 2021. The house is generously designed for 6 people on a total of 3 floors and is very well equipped and lovingly furnished with antiques.
The property is on the edge of a residential area and is beautifully landscaped with old olive trees, plants and a normal pool.
We were welcomed in a very friendly manner and looked after professionally by Franco as the owner's representative. We would like to thank Franco and his brother Enzo once again for their help and support.
We really enjoyed our stay in the house and Montepulciano and can happily recommend the very beautiful house with its great ambience.
