The location for us was good

July 2017 - The location for us was good. The added bonus was the washing machine and iron. The nearest town Sciacca was about a 10 minute car ride and the nearest beach the same. Both provided lovely days out. A car is a must in this accommodation as there is no public transport nearby.

Lorenzo the owner provided a mobile should we have needed support.

Finding what we needed for our Sicilian tour was difficult and via the Internet Summer in Italy found us!!! Booking was easy and contact and information was good. We would recommend Summer in Italy!! Thank you.

Travel tips

  • The area has the most stunning and 'wild' beaches, untouched by commercialism which is fantastic!!
  • Do go to the nearest 'spiaggia' you will not be disappointed! Note: at weekends it does get busy, you can drive you car almost onto the beach, you will need your own umbrella and chairs as there is no facilities.
  • Resorts such as Selinunte and Agrigento are not too far to travel and are a Must Do when you are in the area, full of culture and history. A tip: on a hot day the electric car tour in the archeological park in Selinunte in a must. Follow that up with an afternoon in the beach in the shadow of the temples and the day is perfect. The fish restaurant Boomerang in Selinunte finishes a most wonderful day!!!
  • The nearest town has an excellent Tourist Information Point with suggested days out and local area maps. We found this helpful.
  • Supermarkets were easy to locate. We used the Lidl, Crai and others, all had everything you needed!! Note: siesta is stringent in this area, shops close 13:30 to 16:30, we got caught out a few times!!!
  • Sciacca on Saturday morning comes alive and do walk around the town it is wonderful, and there are cafes to take refreshments.
