Spectacular view, excellent location close to the beach, well equipped apartment

July 2019 - Spectacular view, excellent location close to the beach, well equipped apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Communication process and arrival information provided was very good. Our check-in went very smoothly.

Travel tips

  • Amalfi has many convenient ferry connections to other Amalfi Coast towns.

Views were amazing and location was perfect

October 2016 - Appartamento Guiscardo was wonderful. Only downside was walking up so many steps. Views were amazing and location was perfect. Everything was great. Beds are a little hard, but we understand that is the standard for Italian beds.

Property manager did a great job of communicating and addressing our needs.

Travel tips

  • Take all day trips via boat. Roads are very winding and can be nauseating.

We loved it!

July 2016 - We loved Appartamento Guiscardo! The views from this apartment are spectacular. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again.

The owner met us when we arrived and showed us around as well as how everything worked. We had his number in case there were any problems but, fortunately, there were none.

Travel tips

  • There are 153 steps up to Appartamento Guiscardo. Just a heads up for those who may travel with a lot of luggage.

The location is unsurpassed

June 2016 - Lots of steps but the best in Amalfi! With this apartment it's all about location and the location is unsurpassed. Next to the lemon groves with a panoramic view from its huge roof terrace it will simply blow you away. The apartment upstairs can thud around a bit but nothing major. A microwave would make the kitchen perfect for pinging up your pizza which Amalfi should be famous for.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else on the Amalfi coast.

Keep doing what you do!

Travel tips

  • The pizza place at the bottom of the steps rocks!
  • Walk to Atrani through the tunnel (go down steps turn right it's on your right) then across the road and through the garden of the cafe. The walk from there up to Ravello is superb but only in the morning when there is shade, later it will cook you! Take the bus back down.
  • Taxi prices are insane. Book a taxi transfer to reach Amalfi around EUR 100 each way, it can cost that much to go to Ravello and back around 5 kilometers!

Fantastic

June 2015 - The best views of Amalfi, stunning location.

Appartamento Guiscardo is large and everything works including the all important air conditioning. Bathroom could use updating but did we mention the insanely gorgeous views. 150 steps to climb but well worth it. The owner can arrange to have your cases portered for a small charge.

Owner very helpful, does not speak english but there is always someone to translate so no problems.

Our third visit this year and we will be returning.

Travel tips

  • 150 steps so not for wimps.
  • Gran Caffe for breakfast croissants.
  • Restaurant Eolo amazing.
  • Restaurant Villa Maria in Ravello for lunch stunning eat from dinner menu get there for 12 for a top table.
  • You can walk up to Ravello via Atrani in the morning but take a taxi back down as it is too hot later!

Good

October 2013 - The apartment was very very clean and comfortable enough for our family of 5. The kitchen is well equipped and the a/c is welcomed on those warmer nights.

What the apartment may lack in any technology (no WIFI or satellite TV) it makes up for with the spectacular view over the beach and town below. The roof top terrace was a great spot to sit with a nice glass of wine at the end of the day, watching the boats come in and out of the bay as the sun sets. This place would have to have one of the best views in all of Amalfi.

Travel tips

  • Lots of steps (approx 165) so use the luggage service to carry your bags up and back. Only 5 Euro a bag, and worth it.
  • Take in the amazing view from the roof top terrace. Must be the best view in all of Amalfi.
  • We arrived from Salerno by Ferry (35 mins) rather than the 70 min sita bus on the winding roads. By far the best way to get to Amalfi if the weather condition allow it and if your schedule matches the ferry schedule.
  • Easy day trips to Pompeii, Isle of Capri and of course the blue grotto.
  • We were travelling as family of 5 for over a month and Amalfi was our favourite destination by far. A lovely atmosphere in the town, true village living.

Fantastic

June 2013 - Astonishing view and superb roof terrace. We will definitely be back to stay here despite the 150 steps to climb!

Bath has been cleaned with something which has damaged its surface so it looks dirty. In fact as with everywhere else it was very clean.

I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Amalfi now we have stayed in Guiscardo.

Booked before, great service will use again.

Travel tips

  • Unless you are of above average strength and fitness you will need porters to haul your cases up and down. No worries as this service is readily available.
  • People who don't want to climb 150 steps up and down three times a day you know who you are so don't complain.

Excellent

May 2013 - We loved our stay at Apartment Guiscardo! Beautiful views over stunning Amalfi, well appointed and beautifully presented apartment. We loved the use of the upstairs terrace.

The apartment was clean and bright and had everything we needed, possibly with the exception of wifi, which would have been a nice addition.

Amalfi is a stunning town with a vibrant local feel and less touristy we thought than some of the other towns.

The owner didn't speak a word of English but he was so genuine and lovely, and someone corresponded via SMS well in English to help facilitate our easy arrival.

Summer in Italy were excellent - couldn't fault the service we received and if we ever get to Italy again (and I really hope we do!) we will definitely use you again!

Travel tips

  • Use the luggage service to get from the bus stop to the apartment... It's a lot of steps! €3 per bag.

Fantastic

September 2012 - We loved our stay Appartmento Guiscardo.

We travelled with our 3 daughters. The only thing we were disappointed in was the main bedroom was the back room, while the girls bedroom which had the single beds had the view.

Travel tips

  • Great location, lots of steps.
  • Make sure you take the time to go to roof terrace.

Excellent

September 2012 - I and the entire family loved Appartamento Guiscardo.

The views over the hills, particularly from the roof terrace, were spectacular. We found the kitchen and other facilities clean, tidy and well kept and enjoyed two lovely dinners in the flat.

The service was excellent. Very prompt replies and easy to use

Travel tips

  • Bring light luggage, as there are a lot of stairs to get up.

Excellent

July 2012 - This apartment has a wonderful location and the view was awesome, although you have to climb 153 (I counted them) steps to get to the apartment but the effort is well worth it.

The location was close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Excellent location to visit other towns on the Amalfi coast as well as Capri.

Neighbors were wonderfully helpful as was the owner.

We would definitely stay here on our next visit.

I would book with Summer in Italy again. I loved getting the newsletters with helpful tips prior to visiting.

Travel tips

  • The shopping in Amalfi is superior to surrounding towns.
  • We spend a lovely evening at a restaurant that we walked to along the road to Atrani and in fact is a cut through to the beach. Can't remember the name but the food and service (as well as the low cost) was wonderful.

Unfortunately, Appartamento Guiscardo can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
