Taormina Cable Cars

Taormina's public transportation is much more fun than an ordinary bus! They have cute cable cars that are like bubble-shaped ski lifts that whisk visitors from town to the beaches in just two minutes, with lovely views along the way.

The aerial tramway is called a funivia in Italian; it runs between the center of Taormina near Porta Messina to arrive at Mazzaro' with its beautiful bay, nice beaches, and the pretty Isola Bella. The Taormina cable cars operate from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM year-round, with summer hours lasting until 1:00 AM. Cost is €3 each way.
