Scoglione Beach

Just past Vietri sul Mare, this is a beautiful strip of sand and pebble beach, more than eighty feet long. It is called "Scoglione", meaning huge rock, from the outcropping in the sea, which is popular with kids as a launching pad; they climb up it and jump from it into the water. Off to the right is a fern-rich ravine. Peaceful and never crowded, it is reached through a long series of stairs that connect it to a private villa up above. The beach faces south-east and lose in direct sunlight in the early afternoon.
