A mix of pebbles and sand, with finer sand, and a few kilometers of beach backed by eucalyptus woods, this is a nice place for a day at the sea. It draws residents from Taormina, for the scent of the foliage and the sea air, the length of beach, and ease of access. Much of the beach is dotted with lido establishments, and the lungomare road is shaded by the trees on both side, obscuring the view of the water until you to the south of Marina di Cottone, near Lido Albachiara. There it opens up on the sea side, and there is street parking for a stretch until you get to Fondachello.

The sand and small pebbles are easy to walk on, the water is clear and gets deep gradually. There are many lido concessions that offer sun beds and umbrellas, restaurants, snacks, and drinks, along with showers, and restrooms.
