An easy but delicious way to end a meal is with a macedonia, or simply put, fruit salad. Don't imagine that marshmallow-studded canned fruit "macedonia" but think instead of a refreshing and light fresh mixed fruit. We don't usually have heavy desserts every day, so macedonia a nice way to have a sweet finale, get your fruit intake, and use up seasonal orchard crops, too. There isn't really a "recipe," more like a guide. Cut up any seasonal fruits you have, add a little lemon juice, a spoonful of sugar and maybe a splash of rum or brandy, and let is sit while you enjoy your meal. Then it's ready at the end! You can top with a scoop of gelato, vanilla yogurt, or whipped cream if you like, but it's delicious just as it is, too.

Fruits can include: Chopped apples, pears, strawberries, kiwi, peaches, pineapple, melon, bananas, sliced grapes, blueberries, raspberries, oranges.
