Originally founded in 1889 by the British who were staying in Florence, this course was built in 1934, making the Golf Club Ugolino is the oldest one in Italy.

The course hosted the first national competitions and was noticeably enlarged during the 30's, with the new Art Deco style clubhouse and the unusual layout and challenging course, then a par 69, projected by the English architects Blandford and Gannon. The course encircles the club house and is quite difficult because of a number of slopes and natural hurdles. In the 60's the course was extended to a par 72. The Ugolino Golf Club is an essential part of Italian golf history.

The club house has a pro shop and locker rooms on the ground floor. The upper floor is home to the lounge area, bar and upscale restaurant, and there is a wrap-around terrace offering beautiful views. The elegant "futurist" style swimming pool will cool you off after your round.
