Badolato Marina rests near the seafront, the modern town not infringing itself on the largely undeveloped beach. The town sits back a bit, leaving the waterfront to its natural state in many places, with trees and brush giving way to the sand.

It is a newer town -built in the post war period- and runs a length of about two kilometers with Via Nazionale as the main road, where restaurants, stores, and services are located. There is a train station, towards the southern end and a boat marina towards the northern end.

Badolato Marina is laid back and has nearly two miles of golden sand beaches, very wide stretches so you'll have to walk a bit to reach the water in many places. But the water here is very clear, and appreciated by families with children as it deepens very gradually.

Up on the hill behind is the old town of Badolato, the historical town center draped over the ridge and hilltop. Here, medieval alleyways climb and descend among stone buildings and palazzi. Byzantine churches and ornate decorations are to be found, so do explore to see the lovely Old World appeal.

The area produces wine, olive oil, livestock and grain.
