Excellent

March 2013 - It was excellent staying at Villino Rubacuori. The house is roomy. The view is excellent. There are lots of fabulous little villages within walking/bus distance.

The owner/landlord is very friendly and helpful with anything you need.

Overall an excellent place to vacation in Italy.

We were very impressed with the service from "Summer In Italy". Any questions we had they were happy to help. They always responded to our emails in a timely manner. Very friendly and courteous. And their recommendation of a driver "Claudio" was excellent. I will definitely be using "Summer In Italy" for my next trip top Italy.

Travel tips

  • Buy as many bus tickets as you can and you can jump on the bus and visit many incredible villages along the coast... Cetara, Amalfi, Positano, etc... [day-passes and three-day tickets also available!]

November 2012 - We have just returned from a week staying at Villino Rubacuori on the Amalfi Cost. I have to say it couldn't have been more perfect. The information and support from Summer in Italy, who we booked through was brilliant and the accommodation was absolutely beautiful with views over the sea and mountains beyond. We were looking for somewhere that was secluded but also close to everything and Villino Rubacuori delivered this perfectly.

The owner met us in the nearby town and took us to the property. He was extremely helpful and explained everything to us. There is a information guide in the mill which tells you of some local restaurants and trips which was helpful. It also has details of the buses.

The property is right on the coast road with secure parking which is great if you hire a car (which we did). The property itself is a bit of a climb up the hill (about 50 yardish). This was a bit hard work when we first arrived because of the weight of our case but throughout the week it was great because you felt like you were staying rurally when in fact you are right near everything. Cetara is a short drive up the road, walkable but it was dark so we just took the car. We went to a very nice fish restaurant there one evening which was recommended by the owner.

All the places we wanted to visit such as Pompeii and Herculaneum were an easy 45 minutes drive using the motorway and Amalfi and Positano were also close.

The owner tried to contact us after a few days to check we were ok but unfortunately my phone didn't work. When we arrived back at the property that night he had left us some anchovies and more pellets for the fire which was really thoughtful.

I would definitely recommend this to people as it was beautiful and the accommodation was great.

Best bits - location, views, accommodation and helpful and friendly owner.

Worst bit - the walk up the hill to the mill - it was fine for us but if your were a bit unsteady on your feet it could be a problem. Although even this shouldn't really put you off. Just take regular rests on your walk up!

You were brilliant throughout the whole booking experience and very friendly when I asked advice about the local area. Fast efficient and friendly. First class service, thank you very much.

Travel tips

  • Pompeii and Herculaneum are an absolute must. We also visited Paestum, which was very impressive.
  • I would encourage people to take a drive in the mountains as well if they have a car as the scenery is stunning.

Recommended for romantic couples.

October 2011 - Fantastic spot for a fit couple. Simple but well thought out touches. Fantastic view, good location to explore the Amalfi Coast from. Great value. Good stove makes it ideal in off season as well.

Highly recommended.

Travel tips

  • Fairly steep climb from main road, approx 150 m, but also ensures more privacy. Only suitable for a couple and perhaps a young child. Very romantic setting.

October 2011 - We had a wonderful time during our week at Villino Rubacuori, and would definitely stay there again.

Great service!

Travel tips

  • Awesome espresso at the kiosk in the centre of Cetara. Also an excellent mini-market, and good place to hang out in the evening in general.

July 2011 - This place was an unbelievable find and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to the Amalfi coast.

The setting is out of this world. It is quiet and separated from the road and tourists yet it is close enough to Cetara and Erchie not to be a mission to get there.

It was 7 days of absolute bliss!

Mauro [the owner] was fantastic and one of the reasons I would recommend this guest house to others. He was so friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Travel tips

  • My only tip would be to hire a Scooter or car before hand which will make it easier to get around as the roads are not pedestrian friendly. The owner provides 2 bicycles which came in very handy but to go a bit of a farther distance I would advise getting a scooter.

Unfortunately, Villino Rubacuori can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
