Lovely peaceful location with great views

June 2018 - Lovely peaceful location with great views. The terrace, views and location were perfect for us.

The host was very warm and friendly and always available for advice.

I would choose Summer In Italy again.

Travel tips

  • It was a steep uphill walk to the nearest town - ideal for us as we are hikers but otherwise you may prefer to use the car.

Fantastic

June 2013 - A great place. Your service was as good as it can be, thank you to all of you.

Travel tips

  • The smaller car you have the better because of the small and tight curved roads.
  • The nearby restaurant is excellent, and there are more good ones in the centre of Sant'Agata.

Excellent

September 2008 - The days spent at Villa Silvestre A were magical. The views are marvelous. It is a peaceful destination far and away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Sorrento.

Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is a very friendly town which has everything you need. Grocery and produce stores are easily accessible.

The only problem I had at Villa Silvestre A was the 4:00 am crowing roosters and the barking dogs from the village of Torca. The village sits in the valley between Villa Silvestre and the Gulf of Salerno and if you can ignore the noise makers I mentioned Villa Silvestre was more than I expected.

Overall I would recommend staying at Villa Silvestre A.

I appreciate the help we received from Luca at Summer In Italy to get in touch with the apartment owner when we first arrived in Sant'Agata.

I would recommend Summer in Italy to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful country.

Travel tips

  • I found that once we arrived at Villa Silvestre we didn't actually need the rental car after all. I would recommend not driving in Sant'Agata or Italy for that matter. Driving is precarious and the tight and winding roads are tough too. I drove the Amalfi Coast and to Pompeii. Once was enough. Almost every car in Sant'Agata has some sort of body damage. Leave the driving to the professionals. Once you get to Villa Silvestre the walk into town is not far and public transportation will get you down Sorrento or the beach at Marina di Cantone. Bus tours can take you from Sant'Agata to Pompeii or down the Amalfi Coast. Tourist information is available in town. The bus stop is at the plaza in town. The bus tickets can be purchased at any tobacco shop for 2 euros.
  • I recommend the restaurant (Fattoria Terra Nova) just up the street from Villa Silvestre. There is no menu. They serve what they harvest that day. They make their own wine, olive oil, and grow their own produce. A wonderful dinner with a wonderful atmosphere.
  • I could not get enough of the view from the apartment. Morning, noon, and night the view is fantastic.

Unfortunately, Villa Silvestre A can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
