Wonderful stay

September 2026 - We had a wonderful stay at Villa Scimone! The property has three separate villas, each decorated with beautiful art and collectibles. Every room has its own tasteful character, and each villa has a kitchen and spacious living area.

We held two family reunions here, and everyone had room to spread out and enjoy their own space. The outdoor areas are just as special, with expansive patios, spectacular views of Taormina and Mount Etna, dining space for 12, and a barbecue area overlooking the sea. The villa is also just a five-minute walk from almost everything in town.

The owner and manager, Micaela, is meticulous and thoughtful; her warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome, and she did everything she could to make our stay memorable. If you’re looking for a large villa with plenty of space and a convenient location in Taormina, Villa Scimone is a fantastic choice.

Travel tips

  • Be thoughtful about your transportation and recognize that Catania Airport closes down with Mt. Etna activity. We suggest flying out of Palermo. Alternatively, if you have time, you can take a train from Catania or Messina to Rome. The train gets loaded onto a ferry for the crossing and then a wonderful journey out the Italian coast.
