Fantastic

October 2014 - Villa Prisca B has an excellent location on edge of Bomerano, a small hamlet of Agerola, with good facilities and bus connections - also a great place for starting walks.

Stunning views from balcony and terrace overlooking the coastline from Amalfi to Positano.

A wonderful two weeks in a beautiful area, would recommend this apartment to anyone.

Extremely welcoming hosts Maria and Marcello, very willing to help and advise.

We found Summer In Italy on the internet. They provided an excellent, professional service at all stages, answering all communications with commendable efficiency and promptness. We would certainly use them again and recommend them to others.

Travel tips

  • Take the smallest car you can fit into.
  • Use the bus service for getting to Amalfi and further points.
  • Take the boat trip from Amalfi to Positano and back.
  • The walk from Bomerano to Nocelle and back ("The Walk of the Gods") is fantastic (about two hours each way).
  • It is also worth walking down to the mouth of the Furore Fjord (but treat maps of the area and walking guides with caution!).
  • Visit Ravello just beyond Amalfi, with its two villas high above the coastline.
  • Primavera, on the southern corner of the one way system, is the best food shop in Bomerano.

Fantastic

June 2014 - Villa Prisca B was a beautiful apartment. Everything was new and well laid out. The view was absolutely spectacular. It would be hard to find better!

We would have rated this property as one of the best we've stayed in except we had problems with plumbing. Occasionally water pressure dropped to zero which made showers terrible and hot water was rarely available anyway. I'm sure the owner will fix these issues as he was extremely proud of his apartments and was always looking for things to fix or improve.

Yes, indeed -- the Municipality of Furore has had some problems with the water pressure during that period and Villa Prisca, like other properties in the area, has been sometime affected from that issue. Now the water supply of the Municipality is in perfect working order.

Travel tips

  • If you bring enough food and supplies you would rate the location as excellent. The shop is too far to walk to if you are buying perishables.
  • Parking is difficult.
  • Items such as toilet paper are not available in the apartment.
  • WiFi is an extra cost but speed was excellent.
  • Tourist tax and final cleaning are extra costs on arrival!
  • Make sure you have enough cash as cards are not accepted.

Very good

September 2013 - Beautiful views, Marcello and Maria are so helpful [the owners], organising tours for us.

Great food in the market, most fantastic tomatoes we have tasted in 30 years.

You have a great service, the villa is wonderful, don't change anything.

Travel tips

  • If you are from the US or Oz brace yourself for the roads in Amalfi, they are very very narrow. Take your time and be PATIENT, you are on holiday relax and give yourself twice as long to drive anywhere.

July 2013 - Large, comfortable with stunning views. Friendly helpful owners. Limited parking space but we managed in our huge car. Would recommend.

We have already recommended Summer In Italy to friends.

Travel tips

  • Friendly local town.
  • Try the local wine, inexpensive and delicious.
  • You can take the bus to avoid parking problems in popular towns nearby as long as you don't mind standing as it lurches down the cliff side.

Very good

June 2013 - We enjoyed our stay at Prisca B.

The road up to the apartment and the parking space was particularly tight, you need to be a confident driver in your hire car to negotiate the route. The apartment is quite a distance from other centres so we spent quite a while driving around.

Travel tips

  • The restaurant on the beach at Furore was lovely, well worth a visit.
  • Pompeii was amazing.

Fantastic

May 2013 - We were impressed with the size of the rooms, the outdoor areas (terraces and balcony) and the views to the sea stretching from Conca dei Marini to Capri on the other. We were pleased with the secure on site parking. We found the area to be peaceful and private.

The owners, who lived below were always available should we have needed them, but they did not intrude. They provided much useful information regarding the local area.

We really enjoyed our stay, and when we come back we would certainly like to stay at Villa Prisca B again.

Travel tips

  • We were able to walk the 1.5 km to the shops and cafes of Agerola. We also walked there to catch the bus to Amalfi. From Amalfi we either caught the ferry or the bus to Positano.
  • It was a 2 km walk to the start of the The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) and some other great hikes in the area.

June 2012 - We loved the location and the views! The villa was big enough for the four of us - the only thing spoilt our view from the terrace was the owners large amounts of washing!

Oops... too much laundry to dry in the sun, it seems! Very Italian indeed... :-) Owners have been made aware :-)

Travel tips

  • Great little town Bomerano nearby - sells fabulous local food (Mozzarella freshly made every day which was lovely!).
  • All of this part of Italy is beautiful with clear waters and very friendly Italian people - just bear in mind that there are often many many steps to get down to the beaches.

May 2011 - Would definitely stay at Villa Prisca again if we visit the Amalfi Coast. The location was excellent for hiking, sightseeing and enjoying the countryside.

The owners were welcoming and extemely hospitable and open to providing us with whatever we requested.

The view is unbelievable.

Excellent communication with Summer in Italy. Our local librarian recommended the website.

Travel tips

  • There is a log in the resort where we left our advice for future guests.
  • Shop in Bomerano (15 minute walk): bakery, cheese and fish store. A truck comes by in the mornings for fruits and veggies or purchase these at any of the small shops.
  • The bus runs up and down the coast and is worth at least one ride on the sea side to see the magnificent views. Tickets are purchased at the Tobacco shop.
  • Hike the trail from Bomerano to Positano. There are many steps but easy to climb down.
  • Spend a day at Pompeii (get a good guide so you do not get lost) and take a boat ride around the island of Capri to see all the grottoes.
  • Walk, swim and eat around Ravello, Positano, and Amalfi.
  • Eat pizza, except Wednesdays, in Bomerano at Angelo's.
  • Have breakfast or dinner outside on the terrace and enjoy the view.
  • Take morning and evening walks into town, speak with the local farmers and enjoy the smell of manure. It is peaceful and wonderful to experience the authentic countryside in contrast to the tourist towns and sights.

November 2010 - An excellent location. Marcello [the owner] lives down stairs and was very helpful, you wanted for nothing.

It was a nice two bedroom condo with good kitchen, living room, a private patio and a larger garden area below. Both the patio and garden area had a magnificent view, I don't think there is a better view in all of Italy.

If you are looking to get away and relax you are not going to find a better location for the money. The only negative was we were on the third floor and water pressure was an issue, a minor inconvenience.

We had a wonderful time, thank you Marcello.

You guys were very helpful, if your other condos and owners are as good as Marcello and this one we will be booking with you again the next time we travel to Italy.

Travel tips

  • The town of Bomerano is a small walk. There you can find groceries, meat market, a bakery and a fishmonger. It is also were you can catch the bus to visit the other Amalfi coast sites and the magnificent Path of the Gods walking trail starts just below the Church.

October 2010 - Loved it. Enjoyed every second. Thanks to our wonderful owners!

Keep up the good work so we can all enjoy la bella Italia!

Travel tips

  • We found Restaurant Fico d'India to be a wonderful restaurant.
  • We wished we would have known about "the path of the gods" before our last day -- we would have allotted more time to exploring that. Our short hike (about 1/2 an hour) was just lovely.

October 2010 - We loved our holiday in every possible way. The accommodation was perfect, as was the weather (we went last week in September this year to first week in October).

The setting and views from the Villa were to die for.

We hired a car, walked loads - we love walking - we went on a few scary bus rides! We ate out reasonably cheaply, going where the Italian families go - prices ranging from 16 to 70 Euros for a slap up meal.

Everybody was extremely friendly.

We saw many sights; Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius etc.

The resident family; Marcello and Maria, were lovely; they didn't bother us, but could not do enough to help, if required.

The Villa was immaculately clean. We would truly love to go again and are seriously considering going again next year. We would recommend this to all of our friends - unless they have mobility problems.... you need to be reasonably fit!

Travel tips

  • You can do it without a car, as long as you are adventurous and like walking up and down steps! We would consider this if we wanted to keep our budget down. Otherwise our honest advice is JUST GO!
  • Just a warning about all the steps (not to do with the Villa, but in the surrounding area if you go out walking) - build it up gently if you don't want to spend a few days in agony!

June 2010 - Enjoyed our holiday very much but were disappointed there was not a washing machine.

Sorry about the disappointment! I would like to take this opportunity to remind prospective guests to check the description of the properties for available amenities. If an amenity is not advertised it will not be available. Feel free to contact our staff for any advice about similar properties that might have the amenities you wish for.

Travel tips

  • Walk of the Gods a must but be ready for the 1700 steps at the end.

Unfortunately, Villa Prisca B can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
