Great stay for groups. Amazing property, lovely hosts.

October 2025 - We spend four days in the villa for a company retreat, and we had a blast. Because we went there in October the pool was closed, unfortunate for us Dutchies, as the weather was great aka for us it HOT! But that was the only minus. The rest was great.

The rooms are well decorated in old-Italian styles, like the rest of the villa. There's a lot of antique treasures in all the rooms, which is very impressive.

Two hosts helped us out with anything, and most important: cooked delicious lunches and dinners for us. One afternoon we had a cooking class, and that was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

I can totally recommend going here with a group or family. Communication with the manager of the property was smooth and usually fast. She helped me arranging activities like karaoke (with DJ!) and a trip to Florence with a guided tour.

Enchanting villa

August 2025 - Villa Petronia is a fantastic place! Not only the building itself but the extensive grounds.

We were a group of eighteen, ages 12 to 73, celebrating my 70th birthday, and everyone loved it, everyone found a different aspect to enjoy: jumping in the pool, playing table tennis, lingering under the trees, a cooking competition in the three kitchens, a treasure hunt, dinner outdoors, dinner in the awesome downstairs dining room, singing and dancing in the moonlight by the pool, and some of us occasionally disappearing in one of the three sitting rooms to work.

There was something interesting to discover, a delight to be found at every corner. We were nice and cool on the hillside behind the thick ancient walls when the rest of Italy was sizzling under a heat wave.

Fantastic place to hang out or work

September 2024 - A fantastic house and garden with various areas to hang out or work. The staff are so helpful and friendly. We loved the pool area. We will come again!

(We used the location for a professional retreat with multiple work groups.)

Really nice and quiet up in the mountains with a spectacular view

June 2024 - Fantastic villa or castle between Firenze and Bologna. Really nice and quiet up in the mountains with a spectacular view.

Great for a large party. We were 18 people and had a great time. Really nice well equipped kitchen. Nice dining room inside and dining area outside. Fantastic pool!

Great service from Summer In Italy. Felt very dedicated and service minded. Really helpful in fixing up our arrival dinner which was great and really necessary due to our late arrival time. :)

Wonderful family reunion

June 2024 - Our family reunion saw members arrive from all corners of the world. The directions to the villa were clear and everything was organised and clean upon arrival. The children loved the pool, and despite weather not always working in our favour and some childhood illness, the week was a great success.

Donata [the owner] a gracious and responsive host who also connected us with Monica who cooked delicious dinners for our 14 person strong party. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and easily accessible from both Bologna and Florence. We now have a great fondness for this part of the world and many happy memories. Grazie mille.

Family get together in Tuscany

July 2023 - Lovely, relaxing week for family getaway. Pool was especially nice for all.

Property is very private, quiet with lots of space for kids to roam around.

We asked Monica [the caretaker] for prepared meals for 3 dinners and one breakfast and all were exceptional - delicious, on time, lovely presentation.

Villa is very well equipped and functional for a large family. Views were spectacular. Florence was a short drive away.

July 2023 - Loved every minute of being there. Wished we were there longer to enjoy more of the property but we had lots of sightseeing planned. Good comfortable home to come back to at the end of a busy day.

Great help from Summer In Italy. Have used in the past and would again hopefully with another trip to Italy. Pity we are so far away in Australia.
