October 2014 - Villa Lorenza was an excellent place to stay in Praiano.
The accommodation was of an excellent quality and well equipped. It was very roomy for four people.
Our host Roberto was friendly and helpful.
We have used Summer In Italy web site before, when visiting Italy, and always enjoyed the accommodation we have stayed in and this was no exception. You have a very user friendly site.
Travel tips
- The apartment was close to shops, transportation and restaurants.

October 2013 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Lorenza. It was if anything more than what was promised.
The owners who live in the adjoining home were lovely, generous and engaging without being imposing in the least. We would go back there just to see them as "friends." There was something so much more genuine about the people, the place, the town of Praiano, that staying there rather than Amalfi or Positano proved to be the best decision we made about the vacation.
SiI performed its role flawlessly, providing a wide range of choices and following through on the logistics of securing the property in a user friendly way. We had no problems at all with the arrangements.

October 2013 - We had a wonderful week at Villa Lorenza! The villa is well supplied, comfortably furnished, and clean. The view is magnificent, and the location very convenient -- near the stores and restaurants, and across the street from the bus stop.
The only drawback is the stairs, but they are part of every home and every town on the Amalfi coast. Also, the owner allowed us to use her elevator!
Working with Summer in Italy was a positive experience.
Travel tips
- Relax and enjoy when you get there.
- Spend the money to take a taxi from Naples -- the Circumvesuviana Train and the bus can be a nightmare ride of overcrowding.-
- The hotel across the street has an excellent restaurant.

May 2013 - We loved the location in the smaller village. The hosts are fantastic and accommodating. The views from the garden are not as wonderful as the views from the three front terraces which do not have seating. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed.
Travel tips
- A few nights at Winebar Vivaro is a must do and enjoy the hospitality and the cooking of Gennaro's.
- A boat ride to Capri is worthwhile, the view of the coastline is spectacular from the water. We rented from La Boa at the marina, good value.
- Driving on the coast is not for the faint of heart. If you are renting a car get a small one.

March 2013 - Just a beautiful experience all around. No "buts".
The apartment was in excellent condition and I would like to thank and congratulate the owner for that.
I think you also did a very good job. I would be happy to try to use you again.
Travel tips
- We traveled by car to the towns north and south, as well as took the ferry to Capri for a day. It was all marvelous.

February 2013 - Villa Lorenza is a lovely small villa, very well located and quite easy to access. Private parking is available across the old which is very handy (10 euros per day).
The views are wonderful and having the lovely terraces behind and gardens really add to the experience. The house is very comfortable, the decor very attractive. It is quite small and more suited to a couple or small family.
Praiano is a wonderful place to base yourself to explore the wonderful Amalfi Coast.
Lea and Alberto [the owners] are charming hosts and very helpful. They live next door in the larger part of the house. The villa is more than 300 years old and has been very well renovated.
We really enjoyed our month there. It was winter, but still plenty of places to eat and drink.
Summer in Italy were very helpful and efficient. We were very pleased with the service.
Travel tips
- There are some lovely bars and restaurants, shops etc in the village.
- Positano is quite close and on the beach there is a wonderful restaurant.
- There is no shortage of restaurants along the coast, check what days the markets are on especially up in Ravello, a wonderful mountain village.
- Capri is a must for the day and we enjoyed exploring Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum.

October 2012 - Villa Lorenza is a wonderful place in Praiano and is exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the views, the garden, the kitchen and the general comfort.
Lia is a gracious landlady and very responsive.
The climb up from the street is strenuous, even with the elevator reducing it to "just" 70 steps, but not unusual for the area as most houses are up from the street. Praiano is a great town with markets, several good restaurants and cafés for morning coffee. We parked our car and took the excellent bus service up and down the Amalfi coast, with easy access to Sorrento, Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
Your information packet was excellent.

September 2012 - The property is as advertised. The views are astounding! There are three small balconies you can step out onto.
The place is very clean, bathrooms and kitchen appliances are modern. The garden is above the villa and is very nice to sit in.
The owners were extremely helpful with restaurants and travel information.
We enjoyed it very much and would go back again.
Travel tips
- Parking is very convenient, although a little tight to navigate.
- There are many great restaurants and a few stores very close.

September 2012 - Villa Lorenza was a great place to stay.
Very central to the town and close to all the amenities such as bars, restaurants, grocery shops.
The villa was well appointed and had everything we needed for a shot stay.
The view was stunning and we loved the changing light and sunsets.
Having the owners next door was a great help and Lia [the owner] was always around if we needed anything.
We would certainly consider staying at the villa again in the future.
We would definitely book with Summer in Italy again, the whole process was very professional. Very pleasant staff who kept in touch and were very helpful.
Travel tips
- Great location near to all the amenities.
- Best place to eat was Vivaro just down the steps and along the road (very small). Gennaro was amazing! definitely worth the visit.
- Take the Sita bus to Positano, although you may need to check out the bus times and routes as we waited almost an hour for the right bus to come along.
- There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by for lunch and dinner, but the villa has everything you need to cook up a nice meal (except for a kettle).

September 2012 - Beautiful location, fabulous views and the owner's mother, who hosted us in his absence, was top class.
The villa was of the highest standard, well appointed, spotlessly clean and a delight to stay in.
Travel tips
- If you take a hire car, park it up and use the local buses, it will be much less stressful.

August 2012 - We truly loved our stay at Villa Lorenza.
Luca, thank you so much for all your help. We had a marvelous trip in Italy. The Praiano destination fit perfectly into our schedule and was very relaxing because you made it all so easy. Thank you.
I've also written a review on TripAdvisor and mentioned you and Summer In Italy specifically. You're the best. :-)
“Thank you much -- it was a pleasure and a honor to be able to help. Thank you so very much for your very kind words!!„
Travel tips
- We love walking and hiking so the many stairs around Villa Lorenza were no deterrent, but people with limited mobility should be aware that this location will be a challenge for them.

Fantastic
May 2012 - Villa Lorenza was an excellent place to stay. The owners were wonderful, and we were about to communicate reasonably in French. The apartment was well equipped, though a more comfortable couch on which to sit in the living room would be good.
If we were to come to the Amalfi coast/Sorrentine peninsula again we would not stay in Praiano, as the drive in and out, and parking was so very tricky. We would probably stay in Sorrento. This has nothing to do with Villa Lorenza itself or the owners, but has to do with the parking and driving. We know that parking is very tricky on the Amalfi Coast, especially for North American drivers. For someone who was not getting a rental car, though, and was going to rely on public transport, we would recommend Villa Lorenza.
Travel tips
- You need a car to get around the area in decent amounts of time.
- Go to Ravello! Very worth it. See both Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.

June 2011 - Villa Lorenza is a perfect choice for a relaxed, visually stimulating break. Beautifully appointed and furnished with spectacular views and ambiance I cannot recommend it more highly.
Praiano is one of the smaller towns on the Amalfi Coast and does not have the shopping and bustle of, say, Positano, but it has friendly people, good food shopping and excellent restaurants.
The owners are most welcoming and helpful and it was totally enjoyable.
Travel tips
- Be prepared to walk up a few steps to the villa.
- If you like to leave your windows open at night then some mosquito spray is useful.

Accidentally while surfing in the internet I found the homepage of Summer in Italy. We had a great stay in Southern Italy.

August 2010 - Fabulous setting. High quality renovation. Gorgeous views and very peaceful atmosphere. Perfect for a small family.
The owners were very kind.
Easy to avoid the overwhelming crowds of Positano and Amalfi. Super restaurants a few steps away. Not suitable for people who cannot climb lots of stairs.
Absolutely satisfied with Summer In Italy. I hope to book again with you.
Travel tips
- Make sure that you reserve a parking space.

August 2010 - My wife and I stayed at Villa Lorenza for 2 weeks in August. The apartment was in a perfect location, close to all amenities. Grocery stores, pharmacies, cafes with wifi right below as well as great restaurants. Since we like to cook there was even a shop below where local fisherman brought a wide variety of fresh fish every morning that we bought and cooked.
It was a perfect town. Peaceful during the day with very friendly locals yet at night there was always a beautiful town spectacle to attend. (During our stay this was the festival of Saint Domenico). The town was absolutely spotless, with signs asking to pick up after yourself everywhere as well as doggy bags provided at all corners in case you have a pet with you. It is definitely the cleanest well kept town on the Amalfi coast off the famous roadway.
It's quite a descent down to the beach below but worth it. It is like a little resort with a small ferry bringing you to another nearby beach, as well as a restaurant with great food and drinks. There are nice tanning beds and umbrellas setup to rent for a fee. But they are comfortable and the waiters from the bar do come over to bring you drinks.
As for the apartment, the apartment was spotless with beautiful furniture, and artwork, it was actually just finished being renovated. Very spacious, with three balconies overlooking the sea, and center of town. Amazing views. The apartment had everything. Stocked with tons of nice towels, (beach and bath), table linens, pots, pans, plates, glasses, and even a little espresso maker. We didn't have to buy anything, just food and drinks. The fridge was a full size with freezer.
The owners were so accommodating and friendly. We called them as soon as we arrived and they came down in two minutes to greet us and showed us where to leave our car. They gave us the tour and keys, and helped us with our bags, they were well organized. They also offered to change our bed linens and towels whenever we wished. They always asked if we needed anything and how our stay was going. They live right below in the same building which is very convenient.
The thing we liked the best about the apartment is that it is close to everything, including the main road but because it is elevated in such a way, it is quiet and secluded.
Travel tips
- If you are looking for a place that is not as loud and hectic as Amalfi or Positano but still nearby, this is the place! The only downside is there are quite a bit of steps down to the two beaches, and there are no major ferries here as there is no port. You have to drive or bus ten minutes to Positano. We think a small price to pay if you are looking for seclusion on the Amalfi coast out of all the tourist traps of Positano or Amalfi, yet still in a pretty lively towm.
- Like everywhere on the Amalfi coast, you will learn to make good friends with staircases. This is not a good place if you have any physical disabilities that would effect you climbing a moderate amount of steps.

July 2010 - We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Lorenza. The villa was clean, comfortable and well furnished.
The view from the villa/balconies is stunning. The view from the garden is a bit obscured by the villa itself. So we were grateful for the loan of a deckchair we could use on the balcony.
We were glad of the air conditioning at night in a very humid first week and pleased to find this had not taken us over the inclusive amount of electricity.
Praiano is very peaceful and feels more Italian and less like an international resort than Positano. While were there we had three or four wedding receptions on the roof of the hotel just below, and also a brass band playing in the square on another night. We enjoyed the wide variety of music involved and it always stopped before midnight!
Knowing roughly what I wanted, I simply found you on Google. Your site was easy to use, there was lots of useful info on the properties and the service after booking was was very good.
Travel tips
- We didn't work out straight away that there are two beaches in Praiano: one on the Positano and one on the Amalfi side. The one sign posted from just below the villa (Gavitella) is down circa 400 steps, the other (Marina della Praia) is accessible by road. We liked them both. Gavitella gets the sun until much later in the day than the other.
- You can also swim in the hotel pool just below the villa - it costs 10 euros per person per day [please note that the hotel might refuse acceptance if the pool is too crowded].

June 2009 - Villa Lorenza is a beautiful home which was clean, newly and nice renovated and equipped with Italian furniture of a good style.
We enjoyed this fine furniture and also to have breakfast in the garden with sea-view.
You have very good and clear Internet pages, to read them is a good holiday preparation: entertaining, amusing, often quite valuable and you have a friendly and helpful staff. Thank you!
Travel tips
- Praiano is a good place to go hiking on the wonderful sentieri (paths) of the Amalfi Coast or to visit the nearby "pearls": Positano, Amalfi, Montepertuso, Ravello, Capri and also Sorrento and Pompei (and I think there are still more)
- It is generally good for you if you have fit legs in this area, because it is really wonderful to discover its wild beauty and this means to take the many, many steps.
Unfortunately, Villa Lorenza can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
