What a super place!

September 2023 - We were moved from another villa with problems to this one and it was like a breath of fresh air. What a super place! There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this villa and even more to like about the owner, Marco. Marco greeted us and gave us a tour when we arrived. The villa was spotlessly clean, with everything you could imagine you'd need for a self catering holiday. From an ice maker to the large fridge freezer, a bottle of wine to greet us with, and more wine to purchase with an honesty basket, this villa was a dream to stay in. The pool was clean and large, the hot tub a perfect temperature. One living room had a pool table, TV, and comfy sofas, while the other had a serene vibe with a nice log burner and sofas... I could have stolen the beds had I owned a vehicle large enough! They were so comfortable! This villa is definitely on our list to return to and highly recommended.

There is nothing Marco could do to improve this property for future guests. We will be returning, for sure.

Summer In Italy dealt with our situation at the initial villa we had book promptly and to our satisfaction. They responded to all emails in a timely manner and I was pleased with the outcome we received. I'd definitely book with them again.

Loved our stay

August 2023 - We loved our stay at Villa Lacustre with four adults and two children. Pool was wonderful and it was great to be able to sit outside the kitchen on the shade. It was all very clean and lovely comfortable beds. WE all enjoyed the pizza cooked for us on our last day, thanks.

Travel tips

  • You definitely need a car as it is quite a drive to the nearest shops. Collect supplies before you get there.

Lovely villa with all the facilities we needed

July 2023 - We had a really great week at Villa Lacustre. The weather was perfect - warm, but not too hot. The villa was lovely with all the facilities we needed. The road up to the villa is a bit rough, but other than that everything was excellent.

Marco [the owner] looked after us from start to finish. As we arrived after dark, he met us and guided us up to the villa. He was always available and really helpful.

Summer In Italy was great. Once we had booked, everything went exactly as we would have expected. Communications with host/manager was great throughout. Really good welcome pack was emailed once we had paid the final installment.

Travel tips

  • The Coop supermarket in San Casciano is open on Sunday mornings and the market in Esselunga is open all day Sunday.
  • Pizzeria and other osterias are 5 mins down the road. We ate several times at the pizzeria - definitely recommend the antipasti sharing option - spectacular.
  • Florence is only about 20 minutes drive - recommend going to tram station and use that to get into centre of city.
  • As for wines, the Coop supermarkets all stock a fantastic and very good value Orvieto, if you prefer white. I loved the local Chianti.
