Stunning views and nicely appointed villa

October 2023 - We enjoyed the villa very much. The views are stunning and the outdoor terrace allows guests to enjoy a glass of wine and/or meals as it is furnished with a comfortable sectional and a beautiful dining table.

The villa itself is very nicely appointed. The owners provided every possible amenity to make their guests comfortable. We appreciated the filtered water among the many additional amenities.

Nadia [the caretaker] was so kind and helpful. She met us as we arrived and helped us to the apartment. She responded to our texts in a timely fashion. She is a gem!

The Summer In Italy staff went above and beyond! We appreciated the information not only about reaching the villa, but also a bit of information about what to expect. Quite funny that people can expect things to be exactly like they are in their country... so that was interesting. We love Italy as it is! Thanks to Luca who emailed me and checked in. Very organized operation. I will recommend Summer in Italy... actually already did to a visitor from LA! We look forward to returning.

What makes this apartment a superstar is the terrace with THE MOST AMAZING VIEWS down to the sea on BOTH sides of the island!

October 2022 - Amazing property -- well appointed, well maintained, with the most spectacular views from the terrace! We loved every minute of our stay here. It's perfectly situated near the piazzetta - close enough to be convenient, but on a side pedestrian street so it's very quiet and removed from business of Capri.

Even though we were there in October, the A/C was definitely a plus during the warmest part of the day. All the appliances are modern and quite state of the art (faucet that provides cold distilled and sparkling water, ice machine that makes ice quickly, retractable terrace awning, convection stove top).

The apartment is furnished in a very intriguing manner -- very interesting paintings, sculptures, figurines, furniture. Things were collected from around the world and in all honesty, I wish I knew more about when and why and how they were acquired! A little bit like a museum (in a good way!). The bathrooms are on the small side (as is typical of Italy), but very clean and practical. I appreciated there being shower dispensers with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner (which is hard to find in Europe and my long hair needs it!!).

The apartment felt well thought-out for guests. It was also very very nice to have some welcome / starter food and beverage items in the apartment so we didn't have to find a grocery store immediately upon arrival. Just another one of the touches that made this apartment a truly wonderful place to stay for a week. In fact I joked to my husband... I'm staying!

But what makes this apartment a superstar is the terrace with THE MOST AMAZING VIEWS down to the sea on BOTH sides of the island! I left the curtains open in our bedroom and the living room so I saw that view first thing when I woke up. We sat outside with our coffee watching the sun rise slowly move across the island, we sat outside with our aperitivos and watched the sky change colors as the sun set behind Mount Solaro, and we sat outside in the evening after dinner when the island was quite and sparkled with lights. Just writing this takes me back.

I would go back in a heart beat and you will love this apartment!

One thing I want to mention though -- it is indeed 160 steps up to the apartment! I am a big walker so I quasi-loved having to tackle these steps each day (helped work off last night's pasta and prepare for current day's pasta). But if you have any mobility issues, it would be a big challenge.

The property manager (Nadia) was excellent. She helped us plan our arrival including where to find the baggage porters, then met us at the Capri Funicular exit, and introduced us to the property. During our stay, she provided lots of good tips and she even made a private boat reservation for us, as well as several dinner reservations and the departure baggage transfer. She responded quickly to any questions I had.

I loved Summer In Italy --- you need to have properties everywhere I go! LOL First, the email interactions with Luca over a year ago when we were deciding on this property gave me a very good feeling. Second, I love the newsletter! Lots of good information and funny! I printed out many of the articles and stuck them in my travel folder in advance of the trip. As the trip got closer, excellent interaction with Boris, Klint, and Luca -- quick responses, very friendly tone! It was such a great experience all around! Thank you to everyone!

Great location for everything around

July 2022 - The place was awesome all around. Besides the amount of steps you have to walk to get there, but that made eating easy. Everything we ate, we walked off!

Beautiful large bedrooms, well appointed with all of the basics. Really great powerful AC in every room (this isn’t always a given on Capri). Couldn’t recommend this place more.

It was perfect in every way!

June 2022 - Villa Due Marine was exceptional in every way. The view from the villa is breathtaking. The accommodations were clean and extremely comfortable. The location was perfect for easy access to activities on Capri so that it was not necessary to have a car while we were there.

We received excellent service in helping us make the travel arrangements to Capri as well as helping us to make reservations for things to do while we were at the villa.

We look forward to coming back next year for a more extended stay in June.

Summer In Italy was extremely responsive in a timely way to all emails that I sent prior to our arrival. I really appreciated the ease of communication and their level of service.

April 2022 - We can only praise the apartment and the care in the highest tones. The equipment is great, everything works perfectly and is modern. Terrace & view great! Location perfect. Important for us: the bedrooms are very quiet and easy to darken.

We were looked after wonderfully, even with additional requests.

There is a lot to do, a week can easily be spent in Capri.

You cannot beat this view of both marinas, Anacapri and Ischia!

July 2021 - The outside patio is the centrepiece of this apartment, but up to 4 people (2 couples) can stay here very comfortably with 2 full bedrooms and bathrooms, a clothes washer, ice maker, bluetooth speaker, air conditioning in all rooms, a filtered and carbonated water system, and all necessary amenities.

The management agent makes check in and check out super easy, and the owner provided most of the food basics (milk, coffee, sugar, olive oil, sodas) as well as a welcome bottle of Prosecco.

Summer In Italy service was perfect. Thank you for making it easy and pleasant.

An excellent property all round

June 2019 - An excellent property all round. Very well maintained, some excellent features (loved the TV with 'frame' technology, the electric canopy for the terrace and the ice maker).

This is a little gem of place, yes there are a lot of steps, but it's all worth it for that view! You can see both sides of Capri and the main Piazzetta with bell tower below. The location is good too for accessing the main areas, shops, bars and restaurants (once you're down the steps of course).

Highly recommended, very well equipped and comfortable villa.

Some nice little touches from the host/hostess too on arrival which were greatly appreciated. An excellent property. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Summer In Italy were excellent with the arrangements. Everything was in order and everything was communicated well.

Wonderful view, very helpful people, high-quality home

June 2019 - This home has a stunning view. This was one of the highlights of the trip. The home was also well-appointed, with high quality features like the remote-controlled awning. A special feature of the home is that the people at Summer In Italy who rented us the home communicated extremely well and gave us extremely helpful information prior to our stay. Although there was a hitch in the check-in process, the representative who took care of us was also extremely helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this home.

A picture can't do justice to the magnificent views

June 2017 - We loved our stay at Villa Due Marine! The apartment is beautiful and exactly as pictured except a picture can't do justice to the magnificent views. The only downside to this property is that the amazing views come with the price of a pretty intense climb up steep streets and several flights of stairs that is difficult for people in really good shape. While my family felt like it added to the sense of adventure, I would not recommend it for anyone with health issues (heart, weight, knee...). We would definitely book this property again!

The owner and caretaker were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. They provided wine and snacks for our arrival and even provided a counter-top ice maker when my husband mentioned he likes ice in his drinks. They also booked porters to help us with luggage, which was critical.

I was very happy with our experience.

March 2016 - First of all, we really loved to stay at the Villa due Marine although you have to be tough enough for the lots of stairs you have to manage to get up to it. But it is worth because you will find a well and beautiful equipped apartment with lovely views to "Downtown Capri", to Marina Grande and Marina Piccola, to the Faraglioni and up to the high mountain ranges which divide Capri from Anacapri.

The terrace is gorgeous and you will feel free with no one to look at you.

The owners Fernando and Hans are lovely people who will help you freely and quick with everything they could do.

September 2015 - Villa Due Marine is the perfect place to stay in Capri, we started our honeymoon here and it was amazing!

Hans [the caretaker] and Fernando [the owner] were the perfect hosts, they were so friendly and kind and helpful, we couldn't have asked for anymore! They even had a chilled bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on arrival!

If you are going to Capri Villa Due Marine is the only place to stay!

Summer In Italy was fantastic! Everyone I dealt with was charming and helpful and the help sheet we were sent was brilliant!! We will definitely book through Summer In Italy again! Maybe another trip to Villa Due Marine! :)

Very good

July 2015 - I never write reviews but felt I had to in this case. So there are a few steps involved getting there but well worth it when you enter Villa Due Marine and see the views. We are definitely coming back.

The owners greeted us and had gone to the effort of getting some fruit and putting some essentials in the fridge and a bottle of prosecco in ice.

June 2015 - We loved it!

The views are magnificent, breathtaking! The apartment is gorgeous with beautiful art work, furniture and appointments.

We were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco cooling on ice, fresh fruit, coffee, refrigerator stocked with yogurt, juices, water and milk. We really appreciated this unexpected treat that made this place so special. The kitchen is small - so we just fixed breakfast and lunches.

The only challenge about Villa Due Marine is there are lots and lots of steps to get to it. Several flights of stairs. We did not mind, as it helped burn off all the delicious food that we ate!

The owners were so kind and we will definitely visit again!

May 2015 - We just returned from a vacation in Italy which included a week at the Villa Due Marine. It is a beautiful property... Exactly as presented on the Summer In Italy web site.

The location of the property is very convenient to shops, restaurants and attractions, and at the same time is quiet and peaceful. Access to the property does involve climbing several steps, however the prize at the top is well worth the effort.

The owner and housekeeper are wonderful.

I would definitely consider staying at the Villa Due Marine again if good fortune allows me a return trip to Capri.

This is my first experience with Summer In Italy. If I plan any more travels, I will be sure to check your site first! Keep up the good work!
