Very calm and peaceful atmosphere

July 2018 - Very nice and spacious villa, renovation was nicely done with a lot of love to details. Typical Tuscan style with lots of history (house and surroundings). Very calm and peaceful atmosphere.

The house was very clean, and we found everything that we needed for our stay. The pool and the outside (backyard, etc) were very pretty as well, unfortunately, there were lots of annoying mosquitoes, so, without any mosquito repellent it was not possible for us to stay outside for a longer time. The bathrooms were very nicely renovated and spacious, however, we felt that the shower cabins were indeed on the smaller side... But overall, we did not have any major problems with the house and enjoyed our stay a lot!

The owners were very welcoming and nice, they filled the fridge with typical Tuscan food and beverages that we were able to enjoy the day we arrived, it was a very nice surprise!

We found Summer In Italy on the Internet, very good choices, very good service, no complaints! Overall excellent service! Would recommend! Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Having a car, Villa della Colonna in San Miniato is located very close to all the wonderful historic places and pretty medieval Tuscan towns and cathedrals, buildings, etc.
  • The historic San Miniato on the hill is also a gem and not to miss.
  • Lots of good restaurants and shops, supermarkets can also be reached within 5 minutes by car.
  • Empoli has a bigger shopping mall which was also very close and convenient for us.
  • Florence can be reached by train within 30 minutes (train station in 10 minutes driving distance) very conveniently.
  • Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Florence all worth to visit with lots of history, very pretty and picturesque. We made lots of good memories!
