September 2014 - Villa Cleofe B was fine.

Extremely friendly and helpful owner - couldn't have been better. Gave us lots of produce from the garden, provided bus tickets and timetables, and even took us to the supermarket on our first day there.

Travel tips

  • You need to be fit as there is a lot of walking up to the car and local bus stop for Ravello, or down for buses to Amalfi.
  • Buses along the coast are invariably late - due to traffic delays. In peak times you may have to fight to get on, there is no concept of queuing.
  • Best way to travel is on the ferries.
  • Good restaurant in Ravello which has a car park - Restaurant & Pizzeria La Vecchia Cantina.

August 2011 - A charming clean and well maintained property with excellent views from the balcony and pool terrace.

The family, who live on site in a property adjoining the villa made us feel very welcome and their hospitality was a highlight of our stay.

Travel tips

  • The villa is a short drive away from Ravello, which can be walked but takes about 45 mins and is all uphill.
  • To get the most out of the surrounding areas a car is essential.
  • To get to the villa from the road you have to go down approximately 190 steps which takes about 10 minutes.

There are 250 very steep steps to climb before you get to the villa. This is problematic if you have knee injuries or heavy luggage.

August 2010 - The apartment was clean and fully functional. There is no living room area, it is more of an eat in kitchen. The balcony is amazing with great views and the sun all day.

Being away from the usual tourist areas, you are actually living in amongst the locals.

I was under the impression that there were 4 apartments rented out, however, there were only 2 for holidaymakers and 2 for the owner and her daughter. This will make it more attractive to some people.

  • Parking was not an issue at all, be clear that the apartment is quite a distance from where you can park and from Ravello.

June 2010 - Loved the villa but OMG the stairs!!! Lots of stairs down meant many stairs up (and that was just to the carpark).

Perfect place for relaxing and peace and quiet. Pool was beautiful.

Travel tips

  • Be very wary of the stairs. If you do not have a car and you need to get to Ravello it really is a feat to get up the stairs to local buses etc.
  • Local buses to Amalfi and Maiori are cheap and easy to use. Maiori was less touristy than Amalfi and was best for grocery shopping (Ravello was limited).

August 2009 - Fantastic holiday, the owners were really friendly and helpful and the property in immaculate condition. A beautiful quiet place, perfect for relaxation and yet within driving distance of some of the most stunning areas in Italy.

Fantastic service, very helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend Summer in Italy.

Travel tips

  • Beware of the steps up to the apartment, you really do have to go up and down 250 steps as soon as you leave your front door.
  • Parking is difficult along the Amalfi coast so think about taking a bus

August 2009 - Our stay at Villa Cleofe B was wonderful. It has a fantastic location in Ravello and the actual villa itself and facilities were outstanding.

The views from the balcony were exceptional and it was an added bonus having a lovely swimming pool for our use.

I would highly recommend this superb villa to anyone wanting a stay on the Amalfi Coast.

  • The local bus service is excellent and a great way to get around if you don't want to drive.

July 2009 - Villa Cleofe is a wonderful place with a garden and a view that is more than excellent.

The family renting it out is so friendly that it almost felt like staying with friend, still with a lot of privacy.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • An advice for those going is that it is an advantage if you are good driver, especially with regard to parking and turning on very narrow roads (I got better with time and practice) and to have strong legs for all the stairs...
