September 2015 - It was our second time staying at the villa and we absolutely enjoyed it! It's much better than the pictures.

Summer in Italy is a pleasure to work with and I give them my highest recommendation!

Travel tips

  • The private beach is fantastic.
  • Be careful when running multiple appliances at the same time as it can trip up the power to the villa (dishwasher, A/C and stove).

Very good

September 2012 - Excellent, great location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

You have been very helpfully organising our holiday, keep it up.

Travel tips

  • Walking down to the shops and the main area of Positano was OK and took about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • The return is a lot harder, especially if you are carrying bags and shopping [worth asking the shop keeper if they deliver -- many of them do!].
  • The bus was impossible, we found it best to use a taxi for the return trip, cost 20 euros.

October 2010 - Villa Cicas was much more than I expected, even after looking at pictures many times before arriving.

Checking in was easy and the staff were extremely helpful. The villa was ready for us by the time we arrived, around 1:30 p.m., and we were not required to wait until 4:00 p.m. to check in. There were drinks of different kinds in the refrigerator for us, as well as a bottle of local red wine on the table. Everything was spotlessly clean. The only thing we had to do was put the cushions on the chairs on the terrace.

We were close to the funicular to get to the beach and the views were spectacular.

I can't think of anything the owner could do to improve the property, it was perfect.

The staff at Summer In Italy is wonderful. I had a lot of questions which were answered promptly and completely. My daughter is the one who found Villa Cicas on line over a year ago, so that is why I booked with you. I will do so again as I hope to plan a trip to Sorrento sometime next year.

Travel tips

  • The only difficulty we had was getting to and from town. The roads are extremely narrow, very heavy with car and moped traffic and not really safe to walk on the side of. There's a red bus that is local around Positano, but the bus that goes between town and the villa doesn't run that often, so we usually took a taxi, which was between 15-20 Euros, depending on where we were picked up.
  • If you have lunch or dinner at Restaurant C'Era Una Volta ("Once Upon A Time", it's the first ristorante on the right as you enter town) a driver will take you back to the villa, and the food is wonderful.
  • We took two day trips to Amalfi, one by SITA bus and one by ferry. SITA bus drivers are amazing and the buses very comfortable and clean. If you can't get to town to the tabacchi to buy tickets the local staff usually has some. Be prepared for the bus to be late at times, it all depends on how heavy the traffic is. I preferred taking the ferry, but then there was the problem of getting to the dock and then back to the villa.
  • We took a day trip to Sorrento and on another day took the Circumvesuviana from Sorrento on to Pompeii. Don't buy a "special" ticket from the person in the green train car outside the station. It includes a guide for Pompeii, but if the train is running late, as ours was, you miss your tour, which we did. It would take at least three days to see all of Pompeii.
  • Our favorite ristorante was Restaurant Le Tre Sorelle, down by the beach. The food was excellent, the view fantastic and a good place to people watch.
  • One very interesting note, if you see a well cared for part German Shepard dog in the beach area, he's probably the "tourist" dog. A delivery man told us that the dog lives in Praiano, and every morning he takes the bus to Positano and spends the day at the beach, getting close to the tourists for a handout. He doesn't follow locals. In the evening he gets back on the bus and goes home. He sometimes travels by taxi or private car, if the driver will let him in.

July 2010 - There is not a thing about the villa that we didn't like. Everything was just perfect. It was an ideal solution for us, a family of four, with two daughters who are usually on the lookout for some entertainment, and us, the parents, who prefer quieter surroundings.

Villa Cicas is a little outside Positano, so there is peace and quiet, but at the same time it's close enough to the centre for those who don't mind the crowds.

The views from the terrace are just amazing and all the plants that you find around make it a kind of secluded paradise.

The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished and immaculately clean.

Keep up the good work!

Travel tips

  • This is actually a piece of advice for all visitors to Positano. The roads are narrow and winding and there is very little parking space so it's best to use the buses. We came by car, so we just left it in the car park for the duration of our stay there. If you like walking, you may find it a kind of problem that there are no pavements really and basically you walk along the main street so you have to mind the traffic. But wherever you find yourself, the views are breathtaking.

July 2010 - We had a very enjoyable stay. It was very quiet at the villa.

The villa itself was very large, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all the amenities we need to cook.

Our terrace had an amazing view.

It was very easy to book the villa and the instructions and follow up communication were excellent.

Travel tips

  • It was very easy to go to Pompeii on a day trip from Positano. You can catch the bus right outside of the villa.
  • There are shops to pick up groceries about 10 minutes from the villa.

June 2010 - Everything was great at the facility and with the Villa.

If you want a "Really" pretty location, quiet and to stay at the resort and beach its great. If you want to feel and mingle with the locals, you don't really get a chance from here.

Summer In Italy were great.

Travel tips

  • Make sure you have cash, the deposit and cleaning service can't be charged to your credit card.

September 2006 - Wow! This was one of our best trips ever. We started in Florence, worked our way to Rome and then Positano.

It was the best part of our trip even though we stayed in the very best hotels in Florence and Rome.

The place was immaculate and gorgeous. We will be back with more family and friends.

Great service. Will use you again!!! Thank you! GRAZIE!!!!!

Travel tips

  • We rented a scooter and also a boat at the marina. Very fun.
  • There is a bus stop right near the entrance to take you into the village.

Unfortunately, Villa Cicas can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
