It was even better than our dreams. We felt like royals!

July 2023 - The house and the park around it were wonderful and every day we discovered new spots. The pool was very nice and clean. We even had our own orchard! There were enough private parking spots and the warmhearted attendants felt like family. Their son Sergio spoke enough English to translate. Back home in Voorschoten we are looking back at a wonderful holiday - 10+++!

Travel tips

  • There is a very good supermarket at 500 meters.
  • We made 2 very nice trips to Ferrara and Modena, could have done more, but temperature over 35 degrees and 4 children, you know...

Unique holiday experience

July 2023 - This villa (mansion, really) offers a unique holiday experience. The place is huge and comes with its own park and swimming pool.

Ideal for families. Our kids had a great time, and so did we.

Staff are in the neighboring house and are very friendly.

  • There is an excellent restaurant a few hundred meters away.

Living like a local

August 2022 - It's a beautiful country villa with a big garden and a swimming pool. The village and the surrounding area are very quiet and there are no tourists, so it's easy to get a feel of the local life.

Everything was fine.

Travel tips

  • The ice cream store in the village is great. The salumiere in the next village is also great, although I later found out that the butcher store nearby sells their salami.
  • FICO Eataly World in Bologna is great, but make sure to check the work hours, they work only in the morning.
  • There are many cities about one to two hour drive away and they are all great.
  • There are nice beaches about an hour and a half drive toward Ravenna.

Stay longer!

June 2016 - My family of 10 stayed at Villa Castellani for four days and wish we had more.

The home had a wonderful history and it was nicely decorated. Each room had a old world feel to it which was exactly what we were looking for. We very much enjoyed the outdoor garden in the back and the view from the rooms was just amazing. We only wish the weather was better so that we could have used the pool but it was not hot enough.

Travel tips

  • It was a quiet and peaceful stay and in perfect proximity to the town and other cities such as Verona and Venice.
