It's lovely and quiet, the views are incredible

September 2017 - We really liked the setting of Villa Carissa E. It's lovely and quiet, the views are incredible and the pool and gardens and beautifully kept. Close to the town and easy to park on site. The apartment itself was nice, minimally but stylishly decorated and had most of the basics.

We very much enjoyed our stay and Carmela [the caretaker] was very welcoming too.

Summer In Italy was great. Super responsive and very polite and friendly. Based on the service I received I would definitely book again, it was fantastic. Luca and team took about 2 hours to reply to any email, even on a Sunday!

Travel tips

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highlights were:
  • - Restaurant Il Fienile - walking distance from the apartment. Absolutely delicious.
  • - Restaurant Lo Stuzzichino in the town was a good restaurant too.
  • Worth going up to the monastery for views.
  • - Driving along the Amalfi Coast is ok but parking is awful.
  • - Might be worth getting the bus but they tend to be really full. Buy ticket in the tabacco store before getting on.
  • - Pompeii and Herculaneum definitely worth it.

Had a thoroughly amazing time here

August 2017 - Had a thoroughly amazing time here. Villa Carissa E was small but well equipped. The pool area is gorgeous with a stunning view. The location was perfect. A short walk into the beautiful town which had a superb amount of shops and restaurants.

The property manager is very helpful and responded to questions very quickly and offered advice on things to go and see and how to get there.

Fallen in love with this town and I will definitely return!! Thank you!!

Enjoyed my stay

Travel tips

  • I went on a boat tour, info provided by Carmela [the caretaker]. Tour took us to Amalfi and Positano but was so much more. Our guide pointed out all the interesting spots, stopped to explain certain points of interest and at one point stopped and we got out to swim. Highly recommend.

Best place to stay

July 2015 - We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our holiday, everything was better than we thought it would be.

The young lady, Carmela, that looked after the villa was always so helpful and the cleaning lady, the pool was great always plenty of room round it and very clean, we drove there in our own car from the UK and had no problem parking at the villa, and didn't need it when we got there: the public transport was great, and just a short walk from the villa.

Sant'Agata is a lovely little town and the people are so friendly, I could go on for ever, but I would highly recommend this for anybody, so happy we went there xxx...

Excellent

September 2011 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the villa. Although our apartment was small, It was clean and modern and the peace and quiet was exactly what we were after, as was the lovely pool area. The whole block was well looked after, clean and fresh and the guys working there were very helpful.

The villa is in a great location for seeing the sites of the area, our only problem was our large car was almost too wide for some of the roads getting to it!

Overall we would definitely recommend the villa.

I was really pleased with the service I received. Staff very very friendly and efficient and the villa was very good value compared to others we had seen in the area. Thanks very much!

Travel tips

  • Don't necessarily accept an upgrade of your hire car as smaller vehicles will have a much easier time.
  • Mimis restaurant in Sant'Agata is well worth a visit - great pizzas!
  • We would recommend seeing Herculaneum and Pompeii. It was suggested to us to do one or the other but we are glad we did both.
  • Capri, whilst beautiful, was very very busy with tourists and the Blue Grotto was staggeringly expensive.

Excellent

June 2011 - Staying at Villa Carissa E t was a wonderful experience.

Great website and follow up!

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed walking into the small town where there are restaurants, gelateria, fish market, grocery stores, etc. Not too many tourist if at all so you feel like you live in Italy. It's a bit of a walk to center of town (but not a problem unless physically challenged).

Excellent

August 2009 - Our villa was on a lower/ground level and so missed out on a view - a bit of a bunker really (and consequently cool and not requiring the supplied airconditioner).

Our terrace was large... but had the bathroom window from our neighbours looking directly onto the terrace... and us at them! So didnt use that much. Nevertheless the communal pool was fantastic - cool, clean, plenty of cover, and that incantevole view.

Management (Giusy) was very relaxed, friendly and helpful.

Consider one of the other apartments at Villa Carissa if you really need a view from your apartment or a terrace you can use. The overall rating is excellent because the positives far outweighed the negatives.

Unfortunately, Villa Carissa E can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
