We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Carissa B

August 2019 - We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Carissa B. We are a family of 5, with 3 young children and were delighted by the property, grounds, pool and it's easy location to walk into Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi.

The apartment is compact, but had everything we could have wanted. It is clearly well maintained and was very clean.

The management team were on hand for anything and everything we needed to ask - Carmela [the caretaker] couldn't have been more welcoming and replied to messages almost instantly.

The service from Luca was fantastic. We were nervous about using a villa company but we have already recommended the service we received from Summer In Italy. Summer In Italy were open, friendly, professional and able to answer my many questions quickly and easily. Thank you all.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment and Summer In Italy for their excellent service. Many thanks.

Travel tips

  • Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi has everything you need - lovely restaurants, cafes, small supermarkets and importantly a selection of gelato shops!
  • Worth walking to Il Deserto area for fabulous views.
  • Not worth driving to Positano as the parking is very expensive and the roads into the town are extremely narrow!
  • We all loved our trip to Nerano beach - possibly our favourite spot.
  • Can't miss Pompeii - book tickets in advance to skip the queues.

We had a wonderful time

June 2018 - Great place for a family of 4, easy to get to town. We had a wonderful time.

Carmela [the caretaker] is a perfect ambassador for your business. She made a lot of last minute arrangements for us and everything was perfect, from our private driver to Positano and back to the family pizza cooking, to the cheese and lemon farm visit. Make sure you keep Carmela, she was wonderful.

Travel tips

  • Lots of restaurant choices in the centre of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi and a few markets for supplies/groceries.

June 2013 - I have just spent a week at Villa Carissa B with my three friends. We were greeted by Chris and his friend [the caretakers]. They gave us a couple of good tips about an area and trips that were offered.

The apartment was very clean and specious, very modern with a kitchen, so we had done some cooking.

The area around the residence is being cleaned every day by Pina. She was very lovely and helpful when we needed anything.

There are beautiful views of the sea and the village from the balcony. There is a outdoor pool with some sun beds and shady area with a modern patio furniture.

The villa has a great location, in a quiet area that satisfies all visitors - families with kids, couples or just friends like us who want experience all beauties of the Amalfi Coast. I would highly recommend it!

Over all this was a great experience... first time booking an accommodation with Summer in Italy... we had a great time and we will come again.

Travel tips

  • We traveled to Sant'Agata by car... the street to get to the residence is quit narrow so don't rent a big car of you are going there.
  • It may be possible to get there by bus from Sorrento and from there it is a short walk uphill to the residence.
  • There are a couple of good small grocery stores with a friendly staff offering good cheese, prosciutto, fruits, veggies or just a sip of limoncello :)
  • The restaurant Da Mimi was our favorite with a great local food, wine and an attentive service.

July 2010 - Very nice villa with magnificent view. Well equipped kitchen.

The local staff were friendly but not very helpful when they needed to fix stuff (the dishwasher stopped working after 6 days, and wasn't repaired when we left 9 days later).

Booking through Summer in Italy was smooth and the information level was high. Highly recommendable.

Travel tips

  • There are a lot of nice restaurants west of the city
  • Ordinary sized cars will be able to go to the villa with experienced divers (the parking lot contained a Volvo V70, a BMW 5-series and a Renault Megane).

August 2009 - We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice modern apartment building with all the necessary equipment needed.

Excellent view, nice swimming pool.

Very friendly caretaker who was available when needed and responded swiftly to all requests made.

Very much impressed with the professionalism of your agency. Will surely recommend you to our friends. Thanks for arranging our pleasant stay!

Travel tips

  • Do rent a small car (not being broad) as in general the roads are small but especially the road to the apartment. We rented a Ford Focus Station Wagon which suited its purpose nicely as it had enough space in the back for our luggage and at the same time we could drive very well in the small roads.

July 2009 - Villa Carissa B was very enjoyable, very well kept and fantastic view from terrace.

Sant'Agata is a nice little village.

Travel tips

  • I can recommend a walk down to the ocean. A bit tough to get back up, but magical views.
  • We also rented a boat and sailed along the coast. Fantastic.
  • On the way back to the airport in Napoli, we visited Pompei. Great experience as well.
  • If you drive by GPS, do not ask for the fastest way to Sant'Agata, as it will try to lead you up tiny tiny and practically vertical roads, which are only fit for sheep! We would have never found it without the help of the caretaker. [or follow the road signs to Sant'Agata, at time written S. Agata]

July 2009 - Fantastic spot. Even better than the on-line photos.

Ample room for a family of five. Well equipped with the most amazing balcony. Lemon groves, olive trees, vines and a brilliant raised pool area. At the end of a private road with private houses so you feel like you're part of the village.

The site manager Giusy was also a great help. Really enjoyed our stay

Summer In Italy offered much better service than I expected, to be honest. Simple, professional, quick, comprehensive. I decided to book with you because of your website. I'm a designer and although you could do more with the look of your site, (bit dated maybe), it works very well and helped me greatly when I was searching for the right place. Keep up the great work.

Thank you, Stephen! We are flattered and honored... and thanks for the good honest advice... hopefully you are seeing small changes being made already :-)

Travel tips

  • Go to Positano at least once.
  • Don't bring too many towels to the apartment as there are plenty there.
  • Do stop and get food at the recommended supermarket.
  • Don't worry about the narrow private road - we did it in a Ford Galaxy!

August 2008 - We enjoyed Villa Carissa B very much. Everything is like new and very clean.

The view from the terrace is very beautiful (perhaps not as breathtaking as the view on the Amalfi coast or Sorrento, but very nice).

The villa is very well maintained and decorated with style and taste. The integration of the pool in the olive and lemon trees is superb. In the apartment everything you need is available (even soap for dishwasher and washing machine).

Villa Carissa B had all we wanted: sea view, pool, garden, small private residence (only 7 apartments, safe).

The organisation with Summer in Italy and the welcome was perfect. Beautiful Giusy helped us out with every question. I can recommend it to everybody and would love to go back.

Travel tips

  • The road to the apartment is narrow (as most roads in Italy). Therefor a smaller car is easier to drive around. We were glad we had a Ford Focus and not the S-Max.
  • Carissa B can house 6 people but this has to be seen for families and not for 6 adults. We were 2 adults with 3 teenagers and that works out fine.
  • The location is perfect to visit Napoli (best by train from Sorrento), Pompeii, the Amalfi coast, Herculaneum,...
  • Carissa B is located in St Agata which is a small, authentic village with little tourists. But if you are looking for a night life, this is nothing for you.
  • Be prepared for parking. Ask Giusy where to park without paying too much money.

July 2008 - We really enjoyed it.

The Villa was beautifully presented & well furnished & having the same colour scheme throughout worked really well.

The pool was great and Josie [the caretaker] was extremely helpful.

We found you to be most helpful and informative and will definitely use you again as we would like to see more of Italy.

Travel tips

  • Our advise would be to not bother with a car as the driving is treacherous and the bus & train services are excellent.
  • There are several great restaurants in the town, a fab fish shop and the gastronomic tour from Sant'Agata is well worth doing.

July 2008 - I loved everything about the Villa Carissa - including the pool, the easy access to the washing machine and the caretaker's easy-going, fun, but still serious approach to her job.

Beware of ants! They may look like a trifle in the evening, but they will be a major invasion in the morning. Spray when you see one!

Use a SMALL car - the roads are tiny and there are other cars parked everywhere.

September 2007 - Villa Carissa was an excellent choice for us.

The staff were available almost instantaneously when we called upon arrival to say we were close by. They were most helpful in supplying a toaster and a kettle and were present on site a large part of the day so they were a good resource on local options.

The pool was very clean and area well maintained and we enjoyed it very much.

The kitchen was very stocked with items necessary for cooking and that was appreciated.

Travel tips

  • Park car and use bus, train and ferry! Take the bus for the Amalfi coast drive to Amalfi.
  • I don't know the name of the fresh pasta store in Sant'Agata - it was across the street from Deutsch bank - pasta was excellent and the shop keeper was very friendly and helpful (she spoke English).

August 2007 - Villa Carissa B was lovely. It was well equipped, clean and inviting.

The view from our balcony was breathtaking.

All the amenities at the villa were excellent.

We thought the staff were very good, helpful and friendly. The entire place was kept beautiful, clean and well looked after.

We would highly recommend Villa Carissa B.

Travel tips

  • The village of Sant'Agata is lovely with many little restaurants and shops.
  • We recommend Vesuvius, Pompeii Paestum and Herculaneum for visits.
  • The beach at Positano is worth a day visit though there are 300 steps to reach it!

July 2007 - It was fantastic, definitely the best apartment that we have ever been to and would definitely recommend it to anyone. What you say in your literature is what you get.

It was peaceful and quiet but in easy reach of the town for a good night out and for transport.

The apartment was of a very high standard and the young lady that came each morning and looked after the general tidiness of the villa was brilliant. She would be sweeping up, watering plants etc every morning at 7.00 am - give her a pay rise she is a gem!! Also the representative who met us at the petrol station on her scooter and took us to the villa was brilliant, she showed us all around, gave us lots of information and came everyday to answer any questions should we need them, she even gave us advice on a parking ticket we received when we met her at a local beach on her time off - another pay rise I think!! The meeting that was held the day after we arrived at a local restaurant was also brilliant and very information and much appreciated.

All in all a fantastic holiday, thank you and we will recommend your company to our friends and relatives and would definitely use you again.

Travel tips

  • Use local transport - very good and very cheap.
  • Local town is very nice and people are very helpful and friendly.
  • Amalfi coast is spectacular, Pompeii is amazing, Naples and Capri are a little too commercialised for our taste.

June 2007 - Yes, we had a lovely week and would be happy to recommend this apartment to others. Our only comment is that it would have been more helpful to have had two single beds rather than a sofa-bed in the second bedroom. Although the sofa-bed was comfortable, it was probably narrower than a normal single bed and our tall, well-built friend found it a bit of a squash!

Otherwise, we found everything else very comfortable. Thank you.

We found the details you provided on this property very helpful.

Travel tips

  • Take some long-life milk (if you can bear it) and tea/coffee just to have a brew when you arrive as it may be that the shops are closed for a few hours after you get there [shops in the area close for the afternoon siesta, usually from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm].
  • Public transport is cheap and reliable, but remember to buy your tickets first from the tabacchi.
  • Excellent restaurant in Sant'Agata - Lo Stuzzichino.
  • The walk to Crapolla beach involves around 700 steps and some slippery paths (you are having to drop around 1300 feet to sea level!). Wear walking boots, take some water, avoid the early afternoon sun and, if it's pleasant sunny beach you're after, go somewhere else!

May 2007 - We had a fantastic stay. We thought the area, views and location were great, and the staff very friendly. We could not have wished for a better holiday.

Thanks for a great holiday!!!

Travel tips

  • Rent a small car - the lanes near the villa are narrow.

Unfortunately, Villa Carissa B can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
