We absolutely loved Villa Carissa A!

July 2018 - We absolutely loved Villa Carissa A! A wonderful property, lots of space, privacy, great pool area, behind a small garden with hammocks under olive trees. Everything is very, very well maintained. Our apartment was very clean and well equipped.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the center of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi. The village is nice, you can shop and stop for a drink at every corner. The larger towns in the surrounding area (Sorrento, Positano) are relatively easy to reach, there are probably also buses, but we would recommend a car. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation at Villa Carissa A.

We were greeted on arrival by Carmela [the caretaker] at a meeting point in town, she drove us to the house and showed us everything. We could also contact her anytime via WhatsApp if we had questions. We were extremely satisfied.

We were very impressed by Summer In Italy. The organization was great and our questions were always answered quickly and with helpful information. We will book again through Summer In Italy. Many Thanks!

Travel tips

  • In the village itself, you can eat well and you don't necessarily have to drive further out to go shopping or to eat out.
  • Carmela [the caretaker] recommended Restaurant Da Mimì, in a side street of the pedestrian area. A perfect tip! Italian style, great food and the staff were very accommodating, even during rush hours. You should go to this place more than one.
  • If you are looking for a nice beach, we recommend the Marina del Cantone. It is about 15 minutes by car and a large parking area is available for a fee.
  • Positano is well worth seeing, both the city and the beach. Be careful of the parking fees.
  • Sorrento is great and a tour to Capri should definitely be done.
  • If you want to buy Italian products, you should go to Le Colline di Sorrento. A kind of farm where products such as olive oil, limoncello, meloncello, jams and much more are homemade and sold in the shop. It still needs a restaurant. The owner was very nice and opened the shop in the evening especially for us so that we were able to shop for our last evening at the house.

Fantastic

June 2013 - Villa Carissa was excellent. Good standard of accommodation: the apartment was clean, very comfortable, and well equipped. The pool was absolutely lovely.

Came across Summer in Italy by accident last year and we were so impressed that we had no hesitation in booking with them again.

Travel tips

  • Don't worry about the narrow road to the apartments. There are passing places and it's not very far. The plus side of being at the end of a narrow road means it is lovely and quiet.
  • The apartments make an excellent base for visiting Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, and Pompeii and Vesuvius are not too far for a day trip.
  • Sant'Agata has a good selection of restaurants and shops so it's not necessary to drive all the time if you don't want to.

April 2012 - The apartment was very clean and bright and had everything needed for a great self-catering holiday. The management team were excellent and were available by phone at any time if needed.

In April, the pool was not available but it was obvious that in the heat of summer it would be a lovely location to relax in. Having travelled around and seen the difficulty of parking in the towns, we were very grateful to have somewhere with plenty of parking on site.

The location of the villa in Sant'Agata was ideal, being situated just inland out of the busy streets of Sorrento and ideally placed for travelling to either Sorrento and the Bay of Naples (Vesuvius, Pompeii etc.) or in the other direction toward Positano and the Amalfi coast.

Summer in Italy were efficient and friendly. Excellent service.

Travel tips

  • The road up to the apartment was a narrow single track road but fine for a small car such as our rented Fiat Panda. If you're thinking of renting a Range Rover, think again.
  • All in all, a great place from which to explore this lovely area.

March 2011 - We absolutely loved our time at the Villa. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and it was perfect.

The young man who looks after it was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English.

The views over the sea are lovely and I don't think the photographs do the property justice as the standard of furnishing is higher than it looks.

We will go again in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace but within a short distance of main coastal locations on both sides of the peninsula.

The town is pleasant with friendly shop keepers where you can buy food of all descriptions.

I have to say your pre-visit advice sheet was wonderful and to the English sense of humour quite funny in it's honesty. Your service was good and the provision of mobile numbers should we struggle to communicate with the owner was comforting even though we can manage a little Italian. We are going to Germany later in the year but next time we are heading for Italy we will definitely look on your site.

Travel tips

  • There is a 1/2 mile narrow road to the property from the town centre. If you have a car make it a small one (we have a BMW 5 series and had to do a couple of spots with the mirrors in) once your through though the parking and villa itself are great.
  • By road Sorrento is 6 miles but we walked down 'vias' from the back of the church and it was lovely and took about 1 hour. Bus back (the hills are steep) from the railway station was only 2.5 Euros for us both.
  • The whole area is beautiful and lots of nice walks.
  • The monastery just outside the village is a 20 minute walk and has lovely gardens and views.

June 2009 - We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Carissa A.

The pool and terrace features were amazing, as was the majority of our trip, Thanks.

Travel tips

  • It would be wise to take a bus trip along the Amalfi Coast, but you need a good head for heights!
  • Visit the bakery early for fresh bread/croissants as they sell out quick!
  • Visit the fishmongers too. The local fruit and veg shop was great and very reasonably priced.

August 2007 - We really did enjoy our time at Villa Carissa A. The location, villa and facilities were excellent.

The pool was and quality of facilities stood out and the parking and electric gates on entry were a real bonus.

In particular the villa's manageress was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome when we arrived and remained a fabulous host throughout our stay. By the time we left she was a true friend...

I think your website and all the facilities within the site are fantastic. Furthermore, your team was very helpful in the time leading up to our holiday with sorting out details and arrival information. Thanks - we wouldn't hesitate to use you guys again!

June 2007 - Terrific location for exploring the Amalfi coast.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The villa was clean and everything worked.

Location was the prime reason for choosing Carissa A.

Travel tips

  • Take a small car and explore the local footpaths from the villages - stunning scenery!
  • The ferry along the coast from Sorrento is good value.

Unfortunately, Villa Carissa A can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
