Absolutely fantastic!

May 2016 - Villa Capodimonte is absolutely fantastic with stunning views. I booked the villa to celebrate my 50th birthday with family and close friends. The villa is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 12 people. I would definitely recommend staying at this amazing villa and wouldn't hesitate to return myself.

Monica our housekeeper was amazing, each morning she greeted us with her sunny smile and nothing was to much trouble. She arranged for shopping to be delivered to the villa for our arrival and again during our stay.

The team at Summer In Italy have been amazing, very helpful, very speedy response to any questions and also provided very useful recommendations. I will definitely use your service again for my next trip to Italy.

Travel tips

  • I used Limousine Sorrento Renato Cuomo for pick and drop off from Naples Airport. They were amazing, friendly and helpful drivers, nothing was to much trouble and they recommended day trips which we thoroughly enjoyed.
  • I would recommend a trip to winery Feudi di San Gregorio, it is a 2 hour trip from Positano but well worth it. If you are a lover of fine food you must have lunch at Marenna in the winery.
  • We used Umberto Limos Positano for our local trips into town in the evening for dinner. Umberto and the team were fantastic.
  • I would definitely recommend dinner at Restaurant Max, the food is amazing, service and the overall ambience was great.
  • It is also worth a visit to Hotel Palazzo Murat in Positano, we ate in the garden restaurant "Al Palazzo". The food and service was excellent!

Thank you for an amazing vacation!

April 2016 - Thank you for an amazing vacation at Villa Capodimonte! Our group included 3 families with children ranging in age from 3 to 7. All enjoyed all the amenities of the Villa!

First, everything through Summer in Italy was so easy. We were arriving late Sunday night and asked for groceries. Monica [the caretaker] took great care of us! We arrived and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything that we asked for.

Next, the villa is beautiful. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the kitchen well appointed and the pool area great for the kids! We cooked dinner at home on Sunday night and had all we needed to make a delicious dinner.

Monica was there every day to clean, shop as needed and make sure that all our needs were addressed.

We walked down to the beach which was a great workout (there are lots of steps and would be problem if you had hip/knee issues). But for us was a great workout - probably 30 minute walk to the beach and bars/restaurants in Positano.

In the evening (or with the kids), we often took a cab and Tony's taxi was always on call - about 20 euro for a short ride, but very convenient.

An amazing, relaxing vacation and would highly recommend. We went in April which was fantastic since things had just opened but the crowds were very light! Would probably not be as relaxing in August.

May 2014 - Oh my God, Villa Capodimonte so far exceeded our expectations!

The pictures don't do it justice. We got up every morning, walked out on the terrace and stood there stunned at the view. Amazing.

April 2014 - This is a fantastic villa - huge, modern, beautifully furnished and equipped better than our own home or than any hotel you could ever book. The amenities are amazing and the views spectacular. It was so wonderful being there that we hated to go sightseeing or anywhere to leave. It was relaxing and a retreat but there was plenty to do nearby if you so desired. Beds were comfortable and everyone having a great bedroom with its own beautiful bathroom was perfect.

The location is ideal - just above town so not all the congestion and noise but easily walkable into town. Positano is truly a magical place and Villa Capodimonte makes it even more magical. And the wonderful Alina [the caretaker] kept the place in great shape every day, helped us in so many ways and yet was unobtrusive.

My son and daughter-in-law were married on the villa's terrace here during our stay and it was the most beautiful wedding you could ever imagine. We hope to get a group together and go back. Possibly the best vacation we have ever had and all 10 people felt that way.

Summer In Italy were unbelievably wonderful to deal with. You were responsive, answered all our questions, easy to use the website and pay, helpful to us in planning the wedding and in helping us to acquire things we needed - I can not say enough about how great you were. I will always use you if renting in Italy anywhere and am recommending you to everyone I know who asks about Italy. Thank you so much.

Travel tips

  • Spend time in Positano - it is a magical place and people are so incredibly nice.
  • There are many steps - within the villa (though it does have an elevator), to get to the front door and all over town to get anywhere so be prepared. But bus service in and around the area is very good and easy if you cannot walk.
  • Do not miss La Tagliata in Montepertuso up on the hill above Positano. They will send a van for you and it will be the best meal you have ever had plus the views are spectacular and the family who owns it are wonderful. It is reasonable and is a many course dinner served family style - no menu.
  • Local stores will deliver groceries - and wine - so take advantage of that. The Delikatessen is great for that and also has great sandwiches and food you can buy when walking around town and they are unbelievably nice and helpful.
  • La Zagara is great for morning coffee and breads and also for all kinds of pastries.
  • Restaurant Saraceno D'Oro was excellent.
  • Make sure to buy from some of the local produce stands along the road leading into town and eat as much fresh fruit and veggies as you can - both are the best here you will ever taste.
  • Eat at least once down at the beach - Chez Black or elsewhere - just to experience that part of town and the view.
  • Try to see Amalfi and Ravello because all the Amalfi Coast towns are very different. Vietri sul Mare for the pottery you see everywhere - they make it there. Don't miss Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii.
  • Don't forget to take some Limoncello home - and drink plenty of it while there :-)
  • It is virtually impossible to have a bad meal in Positano.

June 2013 - After being concerned about the distance from the center of Positano we all agreed it could not have been a better location. Beautiful views and away from the madding crowd!

We were so lucky to have Alina [the caretaker]. She was indispensable in addressing any concerns that arose.

We were unfortunate enough to have several nights of road construction outside the villa. Needless to say, this lead to a couple of sleepless nights.

Overall, it was a beautiful villa, fabulous holiday and we would highly recommend to others.

You did a great job and I would recommend using SII to my friends.

Sorry about the trouble with the nightly roadwork. Unfortunately we were not notified in advance (as often is the case with public construction), or we would have been in touch to let you known and explore available options to minimize the consequences. I am glad to hear that the overall outcome was largely positive, though! :-)

Travel tips

  • The Villa is on the road to Salerno. There is a red bus that picks up/drops off just in front of the villa. We were also lucky enough to find Tony's Taxi. He was our life line for 2 weeks.
  • There are a lot of stairs... both in the villa and getting into town. A couple of husbands with bad knees had to use alternative transportation. We put ourselves in Tony's hands and he showed us things we would never have found on our own.

September 2011 - Villa Capodimonte surpassed our hopes and expectations. We took our 3 children and their partners and a friend so we were a party of 9 ranging from 18 years upwards and we all loved it.

The villa is tastefully decorated in a "contemporary Italian style" and is very luxurious. We loved the location and the views were breathtaking. We had planned some sightseeing trips but everybody was happy to chill around the villa, go to the beach and into town in the evening for dinner.

In early September the sun is on the terrace from sunrise until 3 pm so any sun bathing needs to be planned around this. We went to the beach at 3 pm so this was not a problem to us. The steps into Positano and the beach are challenging but if people are not able to do steps then there is a shuttle bus into town.

The maid service was most welcome and the lovely Alina was helpful without being obtrusive and kept the villa tip top all week.

Travel tips

  • The excellent butcher is 5 minutes walk from the villa hidden behind some beaded curtains. The fruit and veg shop is a little further down on the other side of the road. The best supermarket in our opinion was 10 minutes walk away past the grocer, around the corner and take a flight of steps on the left. It wasn't the nearest but it was in our opinion the best. The owner was helpful and friendly and had an excellent deli counter.
  • The restaurant closest to the villa was good value for money.
  • Our favourite was Restaurant Il Ritrovo in the mountains and they collect you in a mini bus. The tasting menu is worth the hairy ride. Restaurant Next 2 was our favourite in town.
  • The best beach is turn left outside of the villa and follow the 600 steps down. There is a knack to the steps: just take a break before you are puffed!

July 2011 - Villa Capodimonte is a beautiful, clean and spacious place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

My son especially loved the indoor pool with waterfall.

You all were extremely helpful and prompt with answers. We appreciate that.

Travel tips

  • Since getting to town is easiest by city bus, get plenty of bus tickets early and then you won't have to walk down to the Bar Internazionale every time to get them.

Unfortunately, Villa Capodimonte can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
