July 2011 - We had an absolutely wonderful time in Villa Barbara Nove with spectacular views on the ocean and the coastline. I would certainly recommend this villa to anyone intending to travel to the Cilento region and the management were just wonderful.

  • Be sure to visit Castellabate on the hill. It is magical.

April 2010 - We very much enjoyed having a sea view. The area was very quiet and the villa was perfectly located to the town centre.

The apartment was very clean on our arrival and Mrs Annarita [the caretaker] was very accommodating (we arrived late at night). She also helped us with all of our queries and nothing was too much trouble for her. The price was affordable for a family of four travelling at Easter.

Your communication with us has been excellent. We are very happy with our service. Well done and we would use you again should we return to Italy for another vacation.

Travel tips

  • Santa Maria is conveniently located to enjoy Pompeii (which we did!) and the Amalfi Coast (well worth the journey) and there is plenty to do nearby with boat rides, cheese museums and Paestum.
  • We hired a car so travel was not an issue, although I believe the train service is fairly good, the nearest station is Agropoli which is about 20 minutes away.

August 2009 - Superb location for the beach and the town.

Excellent facilities, and it was a bonus to find a bar on the terraces overlooking the beach.

We will certainly be returning.

Travel tips

  • Easiest way to access the village is to go along the beach.
  • Boat trips from San Marco to Amalfi and Capri are well worthwhile.
  • Ristorante Il Cantuccio in the corner on the square is very good, and reasonable. Excellent for seafood and pizzas.

The apartment was OK but we were sorry that we did not get a terrace.

  • Ask for one of the other apartments with a terrace.
  • Liked the lido restaurant which is very close by for a simple kid friendly lunch.

June 2006 - We enjoyed our stay at Villa Barbara Nove very much. It was perfect for a family beach holiday.

The location was stunning, easy to find, easy to park and the property was very secure.

The manageress and caretaker were always courteous and helpful. The site was only a few minutes walk from the town centre with all its many shops and restaurants. The town life was vibrant and the local inhabitants very kind.

Two supermarkets were within a few minutes drive for all our general living requirements.

The beach location was perfect for easy access by all the family and the beach was clean and the water clear and safe to swim in.

Access to the site from Naples airport took about two and a quarter hours, plus a half hour break en-route and was a straight forward drive with no complicated directions to follow.

We have no reservations about returning to this apartment complex in the future.

Unfortunately, Villa Barbara Nove can not be booked at this time.
